2011 was a good year for dance music, but 2012 looks like an even better one. A plethora of dance/electronic releases are on the horizon — everything from albums and mix compilations by up-and-coming artists to full-lengths and compendiums by acts with proven track records. We've been meticulously sorting through our promos and listening to streams in order to gauge the upcoming crop of albums. So far, we really like what we've been hearing, and there seems to be plenty of musical diversity and fresh ideas. Here's a list of 75 releases that every dance/electronic music fan should have on their [...]
Long time friends Ramadanman & Midland team up for their first release together with this EP on Aus Music . Seeking to breakdown barriers between sub bass garage sounds and house music, Ramadanman & Midland created an innovative sound with this EP. "Your Words Matter" is a testament to this innovation with a deep warbling bass line and an uplifting soulful vocal hook that is chopped up in a very soothing and uplifting way. Check out the full release HERE , on beatport. [...]

A few of these tracks are off some albums that have come out recently. I like to feature just one track, or at most two; but really, I recommend grabbing the full albums from Brekage, Pacou, and Fluxion especially. The thought crossed my mind that I should also have some Autechre and Kyle Hall in here but, I think I'm going to review the Autechre album separately. Ramadanman also has a new album out but I haven't had a listen yet. Too much good music, not enough time. Lost Trax - The Sequel (Original Mix) [...]

Fluxion - Inductance EP [Echocord] (buy) A Fluxion release doesn't come along very often. I actually believe this to be good thing, not because I don't like his productions but because I do. His early releases on Basic Channel sub label Chain Reaction were masterful explorations of atmospheric dub influenced techno. Chain Reaction defined the dub techno sound. They invented it. They were special records. Atlos is one of the most beautiful songs I think I have I have ever heard. The CD versions [...]
Earlier this evening I was studying the fetishistic imagery over at Hard Format , and in particular Colin's mouthwatering collection of Chain Reaction compact discs, photographed in such detail and clarity you feel like reaching out and touching them. I'm a little jealous because I don't have them myself, though I do have a modest selection of the label's 12" output, but this is one of those instances where the CD catalogue is cosmetically superior to the vinyl, which is nearly always packaged in plain beige or black sleeves with their trademark battleship grey label art. [...]
