photo by Kory Johnson It doesn't seem like all that long ago that I was at this band's "final show". It was a blow out at Headliners well-documented here in January. However, the boys are back, good for them and good for us! The dustbin of Louisville music has claimed many great Louisville bands so it's good to see one of these bands make a comeback, even if they didn't go that far. Follow the Train actually reemerged [...]

Zanzabar is heating up this summer, and the patio is a nice place to perch. but if you like it hot they have some shows lined up this August to get your Mercury rising. this weds (8/4) is Cults with nerves JR and friday is Harlequins. Scott H. Biram is an old timey blues mess set to be seen drenched in booze on the 11th, and Louisville's favorite automaton group, Ultra Pulverize is blazing the stage on Saturday the 14th (these two shows are 37 flood approved!). as previously mentioned on 37 Flood, Black Joe Lewis playing on monday the [...]

Pitchfork is reporting that Jim James has launched a record label called Removador Recordings and Solutions as a digital download service for the artists signed. Partnering with former Jacketeer Johnny Quaid, James offers up free downloads (of individual songs) on the Removador site from a varying cast of artists ranging from Nashville's PJ Harvey-esque Cortney Tidwell to Louisville's own seemingly back from the dead Follow the Train . Full downloads of future albums from Removador artists are expected to be up in the future. For now, make sure to use the site to purchase [...]
Apparently record labels are falling out of the sky as rapidly as the accumulating snow across the country. After announcing the start of public offender Billy Corgan's new label , we have more news regarding like minded crash projects. Introducing Removador Recordings and Solutions , which will be another venture taking up the every busying schedule of My Morning Jacket's Jim James , joined by cousin and former bandmate Johnny Quaid. The company's introduction to the music world while odd is at the very least enticing, their tagline being: "some of the coldest music you [...]

Alright, nearly half of 2009 is over and we here at 37 flood have been a little shy, we're sincerely sorry for that but real life pops up from time to time and eats into your fun. This same thing happend to Louisville's beloved Follow the Train. The band experienced an exodous due to founding members moving on with their lives in fall 2006 but reformed again early in 2007 with only one remaining member Dennis Sheridan and a powerhouse of new "Train"ees! We were able to see Follow the [...]

Hello all, I know we've been distant... we suck but thanks for hanging in there! We're very sad to report that Follow the Train will play it's last show this Saturday. The Train has given us one hell if a ride in it's current form of Dennis Sheridan on guitar/vocals, James Hewett on drums, Mike Sabo on guitar, Carlos Ramos on bass ( Justin Davis from 1/07-7/07) , Brandon Jones on percussion, and Dave Cronin on keyboards. Lucky Pineapple and Draft Riots will also play [...]

4th Street Live may suck for music (unless you really dig on some bad 80s stuff). But Every Friday night this November it might not be so bad. Each friday night local bands will be playing for free. This Friday November 2nd features Your Black Star , Follow The Train and The Fervor . Show starts at 7pm. [...]

image taken from here Sorry about the lack of posting lately, the Black Dog has been seriously on my ass and I have been under. I woke up the other day and realized it was summer, wtf... My whole life is passing me by and I sometimes wonder why I am even still alive. There is no need though for you to miss out on some summer tunes. Just a word of advice, don't ever ever take the good things you have (a job, a significant other, money, a [...]

Seven of the best tracks on deck, right now. Some older, some newer. Indie pop/rock gems that will fill your music heart with more glee than is possible to handle. Rock on soldiers of the indie music army. 1. Religious zealots of the Church are definitely what these guys are. After a few listens you will be kneeling at the altar and praising Steve Kilbey for influencing this Louisville, Kentucky band. You won't be sorry at all for listening to this track. Super! Follow The Train A Breath [...]
