Gerry Rafferty - "Baker Street" MP3 Foo Fighters - "Baker Street" MP3 It's going to be tough to justify this one. I first started thinking about Gerry Rafferty when I was driving home from Boulder, Colo., recently. "Right Down the Line" came on some generic easy-listening station and I was frozen in my seat, warmed by the laid-back whiteboy grooves as if they were a hot-shot of heroin (not [...]
К сожалению, нет сегодня времени описывать понравившиеся треки, я думаю, вы сами их узнаете, по сердечкам сбоку, слушайте, они хорошие. Особенно обратите внимание на новый ремикс Kaiser Chiefs - Everyday I Love You Less And Less (Boys Noize 12's Remix) , глубокий I Blame Coco - Caesar ft. Robyn (Diplo Remix) и крайне веселый Kano - Rock N Rolla (Johan Hugo Remix) (который очень, кстати, похож на любимый трек моей «молодости&raqu o; Tillmann Uhrmacher - On the Run (Ocean to Shore) ) Kaiser Chiefs - Everyday I Love You Less And [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Exclusive , Television The Who 's pyrotechnic and laser-laden 12-minute medley of classic rock anthems was the latest in a long string of memorable Super Bowl halftime performances. When Pete Townshend , Roger Daltrey and their bandmates took the stage yesterday in Miami they joined a list of legendary acts -- such as the Rolling Stones , U2 , Bruce Springsteen , Paul McCartney and Tom Petty -- who've [...]

Heard Kissy play this great Foo Fighters remix the other night on his show. Also, this Sinden remix is the best Silvia remix I've heard and probably the best thing Sinden has done so far in my opinion. Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , UK Them Crooked Vultures look set to keep circling for a while yet. Despite the vanity project appearance of the hard rock trio, Queens of the Stone Age 's Josh Homme , Foo Fighters ' Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin 's John Paul Jones are apparently in it for the long haul -- or at least for another album. "There isn't a reason not to [record a follow [...]

while my past few saturday throwbacks have not been under the radar tunes, they have all been songs that bring me back to some place of being young and naive and just discovering that i liked this music thing that i had been hearing about, and today is no different. in fact, this was perhaps among my favorite songs in high school for so many reasons. and while flipping through the television today, i caught a live performance by the foo fighters (are they still around making new music?) at wembley stadium performing this very song, [...]

The Foo Fighters are another one of those bands that have been around for a lot longer than it seems (for me anyway). Formed in 1995 by Dave Grohl originally as a one-man project after the dissolution of his previous band, Nirvana the Foo Fighters have of course gone on to stadium filling, Grammy award winning super group status. What would have been if Dave Grohl had accepted a permanent position as the drummer in Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers back in 1994 (he very nearly did). This is The Foo Fighters live at the Reading [...]
Thank Goddess for rock stars–-they seem to have been manufactured to entertain, delight, thrill and titillate. All too often, this primarily involves their off-stage hijinks, including their nonsensical requests backstage, much of which involves epic-long entreaties that would make Imelda Marcos blush. Revealing backstage requests used to be a gruesome form of dumpster diving no respectable journalist would stoop to. Luckily, thesmokinggun.com does the dirty work for us. Below, highlights (and lots of misspellings) from some of the most princess-y backstage food demands. Shinedown: [...]

Seattle rock pioneers Sunny Day Real Estate have announced their debut UK live gig, following the band's reformation after a 15-year hiatus last year. The show, at London's HMV Forum on Apr. 22, will be part of their as-yet-unannounced European tour, and tickets for the one-off show go on sale Friday Jan. 29 at 10am. The reunited band features all four original members -- Jeremy Enigk, William Goldsmith, Dan Hoerner and Nate Mendel -- and since last year have completed a US tour. Sunny Day Real Estate have also already started confirming [...]
Filed under: The Hit List Love them or hate them, tribute bands aren't going anywhere soon. In fact, they seem to be multiplying, as if Guitar Hero and karaoke machines weren't enough to stymie their spread. Here are 20 musical acts that pay homage to another band (or sometimes two bands!) with their punning names and goofy gimmicks. If they don't make you smile, they may make you cringe. Maybe Winehouse ( Amy Winehouse ) [...]
Today you're getting a special double-sized Moment of Zen today, because I have two videos worth showing. First, this is a week old, but might also go down as one of the strangest renditions of the National Anthem ever. Here it is, your (first) Moment of Zen: And then, Thursday was the great and powerful Dave Grohl's 41st birthday. But rather than play a video we've all probably seen and gotten used to, I present our man Grohl in an uncredited appearance from the [...]

In the interest of full disclosure and in the hopes of supporting those who have taken the time to support us – Here is your grab bag, straight from the teet. Mustard Pimp is making some moves these days, and I'm excited to see where it goes. Also, watch-out for We Have Band , it won't be long until they are a line-up in your [...]

Now that the year-long Album A Day series is in the books, I've done a lot of thinking about where ¡Viva La Mainstream! is going to go over the next year and perhaps beyond. The Album A Day was fun, but also incredibly tiring, and at the end of it all, I didn't get to do as much with it or cover as much as I would have liked to. Chalk it up to time, motivation, resources, or any combination thereof. I'm glad I did it, but now it's time to move to something new. As a result [...]

The year 2009 marked the final chapter in what had been music's most fascinating decades. But we don't have to tell you that - the examples speak for themselves. A combination of Internet protocol, aka BitTorrents, and a band named Radiohead led to the destruction of the music industry as we knew it. A rapper from Chicago managed to become both the most talented and the most despised individual on Earth, while a Detroit rocker proved this generation could have a sure-fire Rock 'n' Roll Hall-of-Famer. The Grammys became a joke and something called a "blog" became required reading. Oh, [...]
