It's easy to feel over-fatigued from award shows right now. They all sort of bump into one another at the same time. Though, given that the Oscars dropped the ball, skipping a handful of solid releases and performances, and that the Grammys still feel like, "one giant industry jerk-off where the ones who pushed the most quantity are rewarded for quality," as Alex Young put it so eloquently last year, who in their right mind cares? Well, America does. If Twitter is any indication, millions of people still tune in and actually gripe about the wins and losses; [...]

Music's biggest night is but days away, and though we know who's showing up and who's performing with whom , the winners of the actual 2012 Grammy Awards remain a mystery. (Okay, so we're pretty sure Adele is going to pick up a few trophies.) After posting our predictions for Best New Artist , Song Of The Year , Record Of The Year and all the Pop and Dance categories, we turn our crystal ball to the biggest award of the night, Album Of The Year. This year's group [...]

The band has completed pre-production and will be recording in Brooklyn, New York. Plans are for the record to drop in late summer via Vertigo Records . the internet really is the only place to discover new music. there is no more "music television" (like the old Mtv) and broadcast radio just plain sucks. they play the same old crap in every cookie-cutter format. you won't find many television channels dedicated to music unless you are paying for a satellite subscription service. but music videos are alive and well on the web. i promised to post some more good stuff and here it is. brand new music videos! i hope that readers of this blog take [...]

You guys know the Foo Fighters' single, "Rope," was remixed by Deadmau5, right? Well it looks like we're going to see that remix done live at the Grammy awards this year. Dave Grohl and the Foos will perform alongside the Mau5 as well as David Guetta and Lil' Wayne in a tribute to electronic music during the ceremony which takes place on CBS on Sunday, February 12. The performance will take place outside of the Staples Center in Los Angeles. I'm not really a big fan of the remix, which you can [...]

Filed under: News , RPM , Awards Getty Images | AFP Grammy show producer Ken Ehrlich had considered putting dancing/electronica music into the ceremony in the past, but could never quite figure out how to incorporate the high-energy club feel in front of a sometimes staid audience. He thinks he's figured it out this year. For the first time, the Grammy show will put the spotlight on the genre with a segment [...]
This has some serious face-melt potential written all over it: The Recording Academy has announced today electronic music producer deadmau5 will perform on the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast this Sunday, February 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. He will join Foo Fighters, David Guetta, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne for a special performance, [...]
The producers of the Grammys have never been afraid to give the world fascinating, embarrassing pileups, and this year's ceremony could be a doozy. As the Associated Press reports , this Sunday's ceremony will include a vageuly ravey segment in a tent space outside the Staples Center, with 1000 fans. That's where the Foo Fighters and Deadmau5 will team up to perform a live version of Deadmau52s remix of the Foos song "Rope." And it's also where David Guetta will perform with Chris Brown and Lil Wayne. Hopefully, everyone will wear clothes entirely made out of glowsticks. [...]

Dance music didn't have its own category at The Grammys until 2003, and now the little genre that could appears to have been fully embraced by the Recording Academy. The 2012 Grammy Awards will include "a special segment spotlighting dance/electornica music for the first time ever." The lineup for this special performance? Deadmau5, David Guetta, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and the Foo Fighters. Wait, what? During the awards show, the five artists will perform in a tent outside the Staples Center in front of a crowd of 1,000. Grammy show producer [...]

Photo by Brad Bretz Maybe this is what Justin Vernon was referencing when explaining why Bon Iver won't be performing at the Grammys. As the Associated Press reports, this year's ceremonies will include a special electronic music segment featuring Foo Fighters, Lil Wayne, Deadmau5, Chris Brown, and David Guetta, "all performing in a tent space amid 1,000 fans." According to the AP, Foo Fighters and Deadmau5 will come together for a live remix of the former's song "Rope." Weezy, Brown, and Guetta will then follow with their own joint performance. [...]
If you have some extra money you were planning on donating to the Obama campaign and a fan of intimate shows, then we have one for you. The Foo Fighters are doing their part by playing a show to raise...
So, I started recording this one on Friday night. Pretty typical. Then I finished up this evening (It's Saturday night as I type this) and for some reason I got myself worked up about a particular issue. I mean, don't get me wrong. There's not a blue streak of cursing or anything, but I definitely work some stuff out over the course of a couple intros. It'll either be interesting to you or not, but I hope you'll enjoy the music that happens in between! Countdown #89 ***Featuring*** Ben Folds Five The [...]

Asimismo, trabajarán junto a Grohl y Gould [...]
Guys, I have some really, really surprising, and upsetting, news to share. Maybe you should sit down for this one, 'cause it might be kinda hard to hear. But it's gonna be okay. We'll get through this together. I promise. Alright? Are you sitting down? Okay. Good. Here we go. Courtney Love has not been [...]
