![[Album Review] For All The Girls Debut + Interview](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4081119_lg.jpg)
Utah band For All The Girls has released a self titled work of experimental folk music. From his bandcamp page Damian Fairchild, the sole member of FATG, describes his music as "songs for the girls I am in love with or have loved at one point in time". It makes sense, considering every song on the album is a short testament to the emotions each girls name invokes- with those names serving as the song titles. Lyrically the release is quite simple, boldly asking questions like "Maryanne, why'd you break my heart in two?" As it turns out [...]

The last time we mentioned For all the Girls around these parts , we spent a large chunk of the post being mostly distracted by the idea of the act really being a one-"boy"-band project from a Utah-based thirteen-year-old named Damian Fairchild. As an e-mail sent to our in-box last week revealed, the person behind Girls is neither named "Damian Fairchild" nor anywhere close to being "thirteen", but in reality a long-touring grown man musician using this creative pseudonym outlet as a way to get himself to "enjoy making music again"...after reading that, let's [...]

For the past few months I've been receiving emails from Damien Fairchild a self-described 13 year old kid from my local town who had been recording "14 songs for 14 girls" and was going to release them on February 14th...Which just happened to be his, wait for it...14th birthday If it all seems a little far-fetched, it's because it was. I later received this explanation from the man behind the complex trickery, Drew Danburry with his explanation: "In 2010, I felt like I had hit a brick wall with [...]
by teepoo Looks like For All the Girls is at it again. This time her name is Yvonne . Here's too all the girls/guys we've met at shows! For All the Girls- Yvonne Bandcamp

In this edition: An artist feature and review of Gotye's Making Mirrors , Francois Peglau cowboys up, and our weekly considerations and videos... Artist Feature: Gotye Australian artist, Gotye (aka Wally De Backer), appeared on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic this week. It's a set well worth watching if you have a time. Live, De Backer and his band do an excellent job playing material that is high on the studio production factor. He brought [...]

If the press release is to be believed for For all the Girls , the one-man band is actually Provo, Utah-based Damien Fairchild, a guy who can't drive yet and spends his days "playing Call of Duty " and making "retro-folk love songs", probably at the same time as he's "texting seven different girls at once". Oh yeah, and he's apparently thirteen (with a birthday that falls on Valentine's Day, no less), clues which combined with his somewhat mature-leaning voice and the even more questionable fact that we can't find a pic of him anywhere [...]

by teepoo We're back with another For All the Girls track. Damien added me on Facebook today, and I realized.. THE DUDE IS ONLY 13 WTF? I hadn't really learned much about him from his mysteriously short e-mails but if this was created by someone so young, than I have hope for the unbieberization of the future. Thank God. Check out the twinkly Maryanne . For All the Girls- Maryanne Soundcloud
Welcome the youngest member of the Lovely Hearts Club, Damien Fairchild, aka For all the Girls . He's just like any other 13-year-old boy, crushing on girls, except he makes retro-folk love songs for them. Since he can't drive yet, he pretty much sits at home in Provo, UT and makes music, probably while texting seven different girls at once. While most kids are playing Call of Duty, Damien is working hard to release his debut album "For all the Girls" on his 14th birthday February 14th, 2012. Damien recently emailed us this fun video, directed by [...]
by teepoo Last month we introduced you to Damien AKA For All the Girls , a dude who writes songs about girls! Now he has a video.. for a song about another girl. It's such a pleasantly simple song and has a bit of a Beatles sounding influence to it. Now I semi wish there was a song written about me. For All the Girls- Phylicia Bandcamp | Facebook

Neil Young's annual benefit for the Bridge Schoo l in Mountain View California is taking place this weekend. The benefit assists children with severe physical impairments and complex communication needs. One of the thrusts of the program is the use of advanced augmentative and alternative communication systems and assistive technology. This year Neil Young's 25th annual Bridge School Benefit at the Shoreline Amphitheater included Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire, Beck, Mumford & Sons, Dave Matthews, Santana, Tony Bennett, and Eddie Vedder among others. In honor of the 25th anniversary, a two-CD/three-DVD collection of songs from [...]

For All The Girls is a project by Utah-based Damien Fairchild. He writes his songs "for the girls I am in love with or have loved at one point in time", and releases one per month until next year, when his album comes out. Fairly standard far for most singer-songwriters, but Damien is a 13 year old, and an extraordinarily talented one at that. And judging by the glorious retro-pop vibe of 'Phylicia' as well as his previous work, Fairchild can rest assured of a long future in the music industry. For All [...]
