Radiohead's Nigel Godrich will bring back his From the Basement series starting next month with performances by The Shins, Feist, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Foster the People. Now in its third season, the show will broadcast on 3net , the 3D channel presented by Discovery, Imax, and Sony. However, as Exclaim.ca reports , those without the channel will be able to access the program through smart phones or gaming consoles on Crackle beginning in August. Godrich discussed the move to 3D with Entertainment Weekly , stating: "I was quite cynical about [...]

After more than a decade of uniting fans of all backgrounds, Bonnaroo sometimes feels less like a music festival and more like a vibrant, thriving city of 80,000 that only springs to life for one weekend every year. The consistently excellent lineups (this year's headliners were Phish , Red Hot Chili Peppers , Radiohead , The Beach Boys , Bon Iver , The Avett Brothers , and The Shins ) are always a major draw, but what keeps people coming back is the overwhelming sense of community and positivity that is unmatched [...]

Bonnaroo 2012 Review Now that I’ve had a week to settle back home and get all the dirt and dust out of my skin, I think it’s an appropiate time to tell you about my recent Bonnaroo experience. Warning: I tried to take photos as best as I could on my Iphone, but they all turned out awful, so no pictures will be posted here. I had been anxiously waiting for the weekend of June 7-10 ever since the incredible lineup had been announced. While I wasn’t a big fan of any [...]
Filed under: News , Holy Hell Courtesy of Kelsey Wetheral, Twitter Saturday's tragedy at Toronto's Downsview Park where Radiohead drum technician Scott Johnson died following a stage collapse has raised serious and very legitimate questions as to how temporary outdoor staging is handled. According to a Canadian Press report , the Ontario Ministry of Labour were examining the area yesterday, trying to find the exact cause of the mishap. A [...]
Usher jumps last summer's bandwagon for a straightforward cover of Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks."

Live music picks for MONDAY JUNE 18 through SATURDAY JUNE 23, 2012. MONDAY JUNE 18 / MOGWAI / THE PHOENIX / 410 SHERBOURNE / $37 / 19+ There are very few things in life that are guaranteed, but one thing you can always count on is Mogwai putting on a hell of a show. Since their formation in 1995, they've arguably been one of the most consistent bands in all of music. Their post-rock, instrumental anthems are mind-blowing, and seeing them live is something that any [...]
![[INTERVIEW] Foster The People: "It's all kind of a blur"](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4347080_lg.jpg)
I absolutely totally completely forgot to post the interview @3emeGauche and I did with Foster The People , you know, that band full of hotties and whose album is so hit-packed it would almost make Girls Aloud blush? We met them a few hours before their sold-out show at La Cigale, one of the best venues in Paris, during the Inrocks Black XS Festival. Well anyway, here it is for your viewing pleasure. My only question is: why the [...]
Much, much love for Usher’s live cover of Foster The People’s megahit “Pumped Up Kicks”. While successfully adapting his smooth vocals to the rock hit, the baby-making music genius shows that he can slappa da bass, as well. Usher just dropped a new album, Looking 4 Myself , and will certainly be enjoying the frenzy surrounding the latest record from his protégé (some guy named Bieber, you might have heard of him), which was released yesterday. Usher - “Pumped Up Kicks (Foster The People cover)”

Apparently Usher didn't get the memo that folks stopped endlessly covering "Pumped Up Kicks" once they discovered they'd rather focus on coming up with infinite personal twists on "Somebody That I Used To Know" and "Call Me Maybe", but we gotta say...the R&B superstar gets a pass for his tardiness cause his remake actually slams. Performed for BBC's Live Lounge , Ursh surprisingly makes hearing the Foster The People jam for the eleventy-billionth time a welcome occurrence, jazzing up the song with a fuzzy, stadium-friendly rock n' soul reading [...]

This week the superstar that is known as Usher popped in to the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to deliver, among his own silky RnB tunes, a pumped of cover of 'Pumped Up Kicks'. Introducing the tune as "one of my favourites..." playing the bass himself as he and his band rattle through the song, it's pretty damn good if you ask us. Poppier than a poppyfield of poptarts drinking fizzy pop, its actually a pretty faithful rendition. Check it out and download it below. Download: Usher - Pumped Up Kicks [...]
Filed under: News , News Today, Oh Boy! Phil Andelman Beastie Boys associate Mario C says the group has plenty of music in the vaults that could see release. The material apparently dates back to the '90s, which is good news for anyone who likes the band. Everyone, in other words. Exciting things happened at Usher ’s recent BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge appearance! Not only did he wear a truly excellent denim vest, but Mr. Raymond personally laid down the fantastic, relentlessly catchy bassline from Foster the People ’s smash hit “Pumped Up Kicks.” We didn’t think this song could get any poppier, but Usher’s full-band, R&B-inflected version brings the multiple keyboards, the fuzzy guitars, the backup singers… We’re kind of crossing our fingers for a studio version. Foster The People - Mark Foster With the recently unpredictable weather in Montreal, it wasn't surprising to see grey skies over the Lachine canal this past Tuesday night. The weather has been abnormal for June, so planning an outdoor show, at a makeshift "venue," for Foster The People may not have been ideal. Alas, while the wind blew and it rained throughout the opening acts, Mark Foster and company stepped onto the stage around 9 o'clock. The rain ceased to fall. Ponchos came off, inflatable sharks were sent into the crowd, and the screams of [...]
Tonight, Foster the People, the band that won the world over with their single, "Pumped Up Kicks" from their album Torches, is playing at the Mann Center. They have already had stellar success playing with The Beach Boys at the Grammy's this past year and just finishing up an appearance at Bonnaroo. Gina Vespa from ... Continue reading

Ahhhhh, somebody get Ursh a b3sci Spotify playlist or something. As tired as you are, your Mom is, and probably your Grandma too is of "Pumped Up Kicks", this cover of the ubiquitous Foster the People single just cut by Usher inside Radio 12s live lounge is kinda awesome. That, and URIV cuts it sharp on the bass in the vid! Looking 4 Myself is in stores now. Usher ( Facebook ) [...]

If you have been in my car lately, u will know that Foster the People's "PUMPED UP KICKS" is my JAM OF THE SUMMER! (If u have been in my care lately, u will also know that I have been eating a lot of fast food, due to the stench of stale fries, tons of bags, and spilled soda all over the seat. Plus I never know where to squeeze the ketchup, so I just squeeze a dipping space on the dashboard. I hope it doesn't impact my resale value. Ugh.) Usher, my FAVE [...]

It looks like Usher is having a blast in London. First, he performed a special interactive gig that streamed on YouTube yesterday (June 12) in conjunction with the release of his seventh album, Looking 4 You . Then earlier today he stopped by BBC's Radio 1 to perform a six-song set that included a rather interesting cover choice, Foster the People 's "Pumped Up Kicks." With bass guitar in hand, Usher told the crowd that the song was "one of his favorites" before starting to play. [...]
