Four Tet : Official | Facebook Four Tet's "Love Cry" is just one of those songs that you can listen to on repeat for almost for ever. For me it was the opening drum pattern and just the swing that make me bob and sway my head that won me over. When the lyrics "Love Cry" drop in you just feel that rush of sonic warmth and you just can't help but smile. I have yet to experience a Four Tet Live or DJ set and am really looking forward to just vibing [...]

Absorb a new ambient-instrumental of almost Avrocar -esque tranquility by Deerhunter called 'Curve'. Organised by Blonde Redhead, the track will appear on the benefit compilation We Are the Works in Progress , raising money to bring Japan out of the tsunami's shadow. The 14-song compilation attributes tracks from the likes of Interpol, Liars, Pantha du Prince, Terry Riley, David Sylvian/Ryuichi Sakamoto, and many more. You can check out Four Tet's offering 'Moma' below. The comp will be released as a double LP on February 7th [...]

Bonobo's Black Sands is turning two this year, and it still sounds as crisp and refreshing as it did the first time I heard it. Alas, after all this time, we're just getting our hands the remix album Black Sands Remixed next month featuring remixes from Machinedrum, Lapalux, and Falty DL. On the promotional tip for that release, here's an hour long mix from Bonobo including cuts from Four Tet, Teebs, Sepalcure, and Ifan Dafydd that will tide us over until the full project drops. DJ Kicks is one of the longest serving compilation series within dance music, releasing its first mix in 1995 when the idea of a commercially marketed mix was the thing of dreams. Since then the DJ Kicks series has drawn influence from all facets of electronic music with mixes from the likes of Stereo MC's, The Glimmers, Tiga, Four Tet, Hot Chip, Chromeo and Scuba to name a few. However every man and his blog has a mix series these days so why should we care about 'DJ Kicks'... [...]

Resuming the process of writing about new music after a mega-year-in-review blowout is kind of like showing up to work in the morning following an evening of getting hammered at an all-night holiday party (not that anyone on our staff knows anything about that). Nonetheless, our job is to keep you informed on new music, regardless of how hungover on 2011 we might be. 2012 promises new releases from a number of big-name acts (Animal Collective and The xx, to name two), and, like every year before it, is bound to be filled with surprising new acts that grab our [...]

Its that time of year again when we cleanse ourselves of all the music we have digested and compile it into a nicely cathartic list. During the cleansing process last year we commented that 2010 was unlikely to be considered a vintage year, despite this we still had no problem finding our 'Top 30 Albums'. Unfortunately 2011 in our opinion has prooved even less historically significant, and consequently we have trimmed our list from 30 LP's to just 20. The following list has been compiled and verified by the WeAreBlahBlahBlah writing team. [...]

We can all agree the devastated area of Japan has affected the world in one way or another. Blonde Redhead has taken it upon themselves to help in their own way by putting together the benefit album,"We Are the Works in Progress," to be the first release on their new record label, Asa Wa Kuru (Japanese for "Morning Will Come"). The album has some generous contributions from Deerhunter, Four Tet, John Maus and Blonde Redhead to name a few. The album will be available for sale January 10 over here . [...]

Kieran Hebden is back with his contribution to We Are The Works in Progress , a compilation album put together by Blonde Redhead frontwoman Kazu Makino to raise money for tsunami relief efforts in Japan. Hebden, the man behind Four Tet, has been called many things, but boring is not one of them. He seemingly avoids being pigeonholed into a specific electronic sound, as if every one of his albums represents a new direction. He eschews the ordinary, opting to become more and more abstract with every release. Hebden seems to have found the right [...]
