Our buddies over at the Mostly Harmless Podcast recently rented a car and drove an hour to acquire an interview with Mr. Frank Turner . Lucky you! Listen here:

Frank Turner has posted a substantial update on his website, primarily concerning his upcoming show at Wembley Arena this April. He goes into some logistical talk about his reasoning for scrapping the planned second stage, announces that more standing tickets have been made available, and that Beans on Toast will be opening the show. As a final note, he announces that the show will be recorded for a DVD release, along with a documentary about the run up to the show: Finally, yes, we are shooting a DVD [...]

Folk punk singer/songwriter Frank Turner , who would probably not join At The Drive-In , is currently on a North American tour which includes some dates with Social Distortion and others with Dropkick Murphys , who are both working on new albums. He doesn't hit NYC with either of those bands but he'll stop by Brooklyn during the tour for a small headlining show on March 12 at Knitting Factory . Tickets for that show are on sale now. All dates are listed below. [...]

Today's song is "Arcane Effigies" by Sharks . This song is off the UK punk band's debut album No Gods out March 20th on Rise Records. The album, produced by Brian McTernan (The Explosion, Hot Water Music, Cave In), swims between the rules and regulations of the iconoclastic chaos of punk rock and British indie rock. The band has a great list of vocal endorsers, including Social Distortion, The Wedding Present, The Gaslight Anthem, and Mick Jones. They were also included in NME's "100 New Bands For 20123 http://bit.ly/zHHs2C. The band just wrapped up the Fall Alternative Press [...]

01 If I'm going to start a project about covers, this is pretty much the way to send it off. I'm not one to state that a cover is better than the original, because without the original, the cover wouldn't exist. This is all very philosophical, but I am a music blogger after all. However, in this situation, the cover made me appreciate the original structure. Ben Marwood 's take on The Postal Service 's is a stripped down, acoustic, melodic, melancholic track (much more along the lines of [...]

This album, made up of B-sides, covers and previously unreleased songs, is the second compilation from Frank (the first-as the quick ones will have guessed-was titled "the first three years"), and although these types of B-Side albums are often something you expect from bands far bigger than the punk-folk singer from Winchester, the devout fans (and he definitely has a huge, committed and adoring fan base) will be more than happy with this collection ,which luckily is not just second rate songs that weren't good enough to make the actual albums. Turner has alw... Read more..

Less than 6 months after the release of his last album, it appears that Frank Turner has already begun working on a new one. On Friday the 20th of January he tweeted the following message: 'Long day of demoing. 15 new songs of varying quality down. Time for a curry and a pint.' Based on this tweet alone it's a little unclear if these songs will be 'Frank Turner' songs or songs for his new hardcore project. Turner's last album, England Keep My Bones [...]

Californian punk-rockers Social Distortion will maintain their presence on the road this year, as they've just revealed tour dates extending through May. These guys have been pounding pavement since dropping Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes a year ago. Their last leg of dates saw the four-piece playing with acts like The Avett Brothers and Foo Fighters, and this new stretch will feature equally varied tour-mates. Stop number one will be January 27th in Vegas, where the band will play with Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls, [...]

A votação rolou, e Mr. Brightside , do The Killers venceu.

British singer/songwriter, Frank Turner , has added more dates to his previously announced tours with Social Distortion and Dropkick Murphys . The first leg of the tour Turner will be with Social Distortion then joining Dropkick Murphys for the second half . He will be touring in support of his 2011 Epitaph Records release, England Keep My Bones . Turner recently released a holiday song with Jon Snodgrass entitled "Happy New Year" .

I guess I lose what little blogger cred that I have if I don't post an end-of-the-year "Best Of" list before 2012. I'm getting it in just under the wire. These are my favorite albums on this day, the 31st of December, in the year of our lord 2011, and it is subject to change whenever I feel like it. Seriously, it's been a great year for music, and it was really difficult for me to make this list. Feel free to heap praise on me or call me a pretentious overbearing wretch. [...]

Originally, the podcast and Ninebullets Radio were supposed to (mostly) feature different songs. Then, I was asked to do an extra hour on the show at the last minute and the two ended up being extremely similar track listings. Sorry about that but look at it like this; in a week the archive of the radio show will be gone forever but the podcast is available (for better or worse) forever. The Episode 24 podcast will ring out 2011 here on ninebullets. In preparation for this show I literally (yes, I am properly using [...]
Last night's show was a special, 2 hour, edition of Ninebullets Radio featuring some of my favorite tracks from 2011. I hope y'all enjoy it. Have a safe New Years and we'll see you next week. Ninebullets Radio is a radio extension of the blog ninebullets.net that airs every Thursday night in Tampa, Florida on WMNF 88.5 FM at 10pm Eastern. The show is archived for one week after it's original air date and is available for streaming here . Also, don't forget to head over to Facebook [...]

2011 has turned out to be the year in music where I found myself resting, and drinking deeply. If you look at the three major music festivals I went to in 2011 (other than SXSW, which is always a debaucherous 1000-mph wonderful mess) they were all of the scenic, restorative type: camping at Sasquatch at Washington's Columbia River Gorge, Telluride Bluegrass where I pitched my tent right by a rushing river, and Doe Bay Fest on isolated Orcas Island in the San Juans. The ethos of these music festivals, more than anything, is a [...]
![[Listen] Frank Turner: "Happy New Year" (Feat. Jon Snodgrass)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3955939_lg.jpg)

As blogosphere music geeks, we are all, myself included, prone to fits of indie snobbery. It's just the way it goes, but sometimes said snobbery ensures that we'll miss some pretty great records oftentimes based on an artist's name alone. In the same way a film snob might dismiss a movie as awesome as, say, Point Break (dating myself much?), one of us indie snobs may turn our nose at the mere thought of listening to a new record by Stevie Nicks [...]

Back in 2010, two of my favorite people and Jon Snodgrass came together to write and record an album in two days ( Buddies ). Over the holiday, Turner and Snodgrass reunited to create a holiday hit: "Happy New Year". Hell yeah. Right-click-save-as to download. Frank Turner & Jon Snodgrass - Happy New Year From Frank: "Jon and I reprised our Buddies hit-making method from last year and wrote a happy new year song in about half an hour. [...]
