2011 was another year of musical discovery for me. Clocking in highest on the discovery meter were San Francisco's Girls ; but right up there with Girls were two bands that can't technically qualify for my best of 2011 album list: Delta Spirit and Titus Andronicus . Their latest albums - History from Below and The Monitor (respectively) - were both released in 2010, but I didn't hear them until this year. Overall, when I think of 2011, these three [...]

Frank Turner recently sat down for an interview with Moon & Back Music, where he talked about his recent tour with Against Me! and Emily Baker, his forthcoming Wembley Arena show with Billy Bragg , and sheds some light on the line-up for his forthcoming "hardcore project." The band will consist of Turner, Ben Dawson from Million Dead on drums, and Matt Nasir from Frank's band, The Sleeping Souls, on guitar. He went on to say that they will not sound like Million Dead. You can watch the full interview [...]

UK hardcore alumnus and singer songwriter Frank Turner has reported, via his Facebook status , that none other than Billy Bragg will be supporting him at London's Wembley Arena , on the 13th of April, 2012. Turner writes: "Absolutely over the moon to be able to announce that the legendary Billy Bragg will be playing with me at Wembley next year!" Both musicians have spoken at length about how punk ideals they came to in their youth affect their work (Bragg as a Clash fan, Turner through hardcore), both mix [...]

Touring with Social Distortion and The Dropkick Murphys , headlining Wembley Arena and winning awards , our old friend Frank Turner seems to be everywhere these days. And everywhere wouldn't be everywhere without a visit to Daytrotter where Frank dropped by to perform five songs and earn a lauding writeup: He's written for himself this immeasurably rich biography that's no more his than it is a thousand men's, but it's one that takes a little from here and a little from there before there's no way [...]

Dropkick Murphys and Frank Turner will be hitting the road together in early 2012 for what appears to be a month-long North American tour. The shows come a month before Frank's performance at the 12,500 capacity Wembley Area in April. Turner also tied popstar Adele at the AIM Independent Music Awards taking home the prize for "hardest-working artist" and "best live act."

Frank Turner announced via his website that he will follow-up The First Three Years , his 2008 compilation of b-sides, EP tracks, rarities, and the like, with a second volume, entitled The Second Three Years . The collection will be comprised of "22 songs that didn't make the last two albums, including unreleased songs, reworkings and covers." The Second Three Years will be available on CD via Xtra Mile Recordings. It is set for a January 16th, 2012 release. There are currently no plans for a vinyl release, [...]

I know herohill keeps it as Canadian as Degrassi, but there are a few US records that have blown my mind and dominated my listening habits lately. Obviously, the new Tom Waits record is fantastic and I'll hash out some thoughts about Bad As Me soon, but the surprising staying power of the Frank Turner record is something our readers need to experience. Instead of hammering out a long winded review for such a visceral album, I'm going to go with a Naedoo-styled "talking points" post. So, without further ado, [...]

This was a slow week here on ninebullets. The week opened with some hosting issues which prohibited us from posting anything until Tuesday afternoon and then we just never found our stride. That said, there were posts and this is where we recap them: There were videos! First we had Bingham Barnes doing his best Napoleon Dynamite impression and then we were treated to an interview with Two Cow Garage's Micah Schnabel . There were exclusives! Lizzie Huffman has a new 103 coming out and we [...]

What. the. fuck. happened here? I pulled up 9B and did a quick search for what we wrote about the new Frank Turner album before I supplied a local print outlet with a show blurb, and much to my surprise, we'd written nothing . I blame myself. The rest of the writers are chomping at the bit to write about high profile releases and here's one I called for myself and then completely dropped the ball on. I apologize and at this point, there's almost no point in writing about it. I mean, a single voice in [...]
