The group has been getting a lot of love since their recent album and with this B-Side, they should get plenty of more. Below is a previously unreleased track from Free Energy called "Wild Life." It appears on the B-side of the band's upcoming Record Store Day 7" single for "Girls Want Rock," which will only have 500 copies available. Free Energy will also be heading on tour with Deap Vally, and they'll be making a stop in Philly on Saturday, May 4 at the North Star Bar.
Modern day classic rockers' Free Energy just dropped the b-side to their "Girls Want Rock" Record Store day special release vinyl which is due out on April 20th. When Free Energy's power-pop hooks are working, they rock. But when they aren't up to snuff, the band's lack of personality is a problem. Free Energy's second album, Love Sign, is like a musical case study in middling power-pop. Like a lot of power-pop bands, Free Energy's goal seems to be to put a smile on the listener's face with catchy, hook-laden guitar rock. Their songs don't have a lot of lyrical depth, but at least they have happy-sounding, mid-tempo guitar riffs. The band's 2010 debut, Stuck on Nothing, won them a lot of critical acclaim for its combination...
