With the agreeable and temperate weather, that both the north and south of the UK has been enjoying this week, we have something of a perfect selection for you, with today's band proving your ideal afternoon soundtrack. There's a theme to the top and tail of the UK with today's post as our blog is based in the South, but it's the Northern music blog, Crack In The Roa d, to thank for today's tip, so credit to the Newcastle blogger Josh and the gang for this delightful highlight. If you've never visited Crack In The Road, then you [...]

Every once in a while I meet someone who casually mentions that music videos are dead and I'm always shocked. Music videos have never been more alive and vibrant than they are now in the age of video democracy online. This post is a celebration of the creative spirit that fights every day to set great songs to even better visuals. You guys are my heroes. Watch the videos in a countdown stye playlist below or continue on to catch them embedded 1-by-1 with my woefully minimal commentary. [...]
We know you lost sleep over the course of last month, waiting patiently, racking your brain to see what we could possibly list as our favorite albums of 2011. We lost sleep too, compulsively checking our lists twice and perhaps after a fist fight or two, we settled on 25 firm choices. After all, who listens to as much music as us? Who actually has time to listen to put together a valid top 25 list with no filler? We're fairly certain that most other sites don't include at least a handful of the albums listed on none other [...]

Each of our writers who posted this year worked tirelessly to cover bands that normally don't appear on your FM radio stations, and in the true spirit of the season, here are their lists. All albums are linked to iTunes. To play all Soundcloud clips continuously, click on the play button in the bottom right of the screen. TOP 10 ALBUMS 10. Fleet Foxes – Helplessness Blues 9. [...]

As our list continues, we not only were able to find some of the best songs this year, but were floored with some new discoveries as well as some returning ones. Enjoy our Top 100 Songs of 2011 as our list continues. 75. Germany Germany - Intro IV (Order/Disorder) Crisp loops and melodies were easy to swallow here. Germany Germany's 2011 album, Adventures , was certainly that. This whole album showed much promise and replayability throughout 2011. 74. The Pear Traps - Home As simple [...]

We've been monitoring the global music scenes for nearly four years on The Recommender. What we've come to notice is that cities and sometimes entire countries seem to randomly peak at the top of everyone's attention from one year to the next, like an ever-changing economic graph of music. When we started music was buzzing on the back of France, and particularly Paris', dominant electro scene. That was swiftly followed by Australia's outpouring of electro pop bands. Scandinavia seems to spout new bands at an alarmingly high rate and New York is never far from the top but both of [...]

It's been awhile since everyone last heard from Edmonton's Shout Out Out Out Out . The band is embarking their fall tour. If you haven't seen them live, you are in for a wild ride! Their music is filled with high intense electro-dance music. The only thing I am curious to see is how six members will fit into that small stage at Mavericks on October 22, 2011. Last time I saw them was at Ottawa Bluesfest in 2009!! [...]

It's been a few months since we touched on our ' Handful of Remixes ' series, which fits just enough remixes into your pocket for the weekend, day or ride home. This month's Handful of Remixes is no exception for high-end remixes. Our recently reviewed Freedom or Death have "This Crowded Room" remixed by The Killabits. We really can't say enough about these fellas. We've got even more Adele remixes, which we realize is getting pretty ridiculous at this point. Must listens by Foster The People and Solar Bears are [...]
Rating: 8.9/10 With the amount of raw passion laid into each track on Freedom or Death's newest album EGO, it's no wonder the band got its name from an 1820 Greek Independence war cry. Written, recorded, produced, and performed by Toronto duo Sway Clarke and Steve Fernandez, EGO goes all out…all over the place. Thankfully, Freedom or Death is just enough under the radar that they still have the flexibility to explore genres without being forced to stick with just one. Start with the first real track, "Inside" – it [...]

"Inside" by Freedom Or Death , from the album EGO. Directed by Kyle Davison.

If ever a music video deserved a post all it's own then it's this one. It's pretty damn special, looking utterly astonishing, beautifully finished and well designed. Add in the fact that we adore Freedom Or Death 's music and you have a resulting cocktail that is more Molotov than Mojito. We've been fans of the Canadian duo ever since we first gave them some coverage ( back here ) and have been keen to hand you regular updates on their progress in the several posts since. They deserve it as they're a shining example of the [...]
by teepoo Check out the new video by soul-rock group Freedom or Death . It's pretty intense for a slow motion video about fighting your inner demons. WEBSITE
Toronto-based Freedom or Death are half way through their tour & are having a great time....for the most part. I say "most part" as Sway had a run in with the Deutsche Polizei... **Summary** Go to website for downloads, videos & more.
Fresh visuals from Freedom Or Death for their track 'Inside'. The song is taken from their latest EP Ego , one of SpacePack's favourite sets of the year thus far. Tweet
