Toronto, Canada's version of South by Southwest, North by Northeast returns June 11-17th, bringing live music, film screenings, and interactive panels to venues across the city. Brooklyn band Friends have been getting lots of blog love since they first appeared on the internet's radar last year with the tropical pop of " Friend Crush ." They followed that up with the catchy " I'm His Girl " (which had an awesome retro video) and now "Mind Control" is here to take over your brain with the help of lead singer Samantha Urbani's cooing vocals and an aura of carefree cool. The band's debut album Manifest! will be out June 4th, while "Mind Control" is released as a single May 28th.
