A couple of worthy tidbits that have floated onto my computer as of late. First off this great EP from Fuck Buttons, who've garnered a bit of press for having been confirmed for the Pitchfork curated ATP and who's Bright Tomorrow 7" has caught the ear of a few sources out there. This ep moves the duo into a bit more solid territory, with both the tracks jutting out over the 8 [...]

Above pic via Magda Lates Yeah, I know. There's nothing "bright" about this shot. Pairing this picture up with Fuck Buttons "Bright Tomorrow" was erm, inspired (or better yet, blatantly copied) by the video for the track which Pitchfork "exclusively" posted this week . I've always loved pictures like this; a moment of life at full speed captured and suspended in time. The backbone of "Bright Tomorrow" is defined by a trance-y ambient loop a la [...]

The people from the hills inhabit the range of blue crags lying at the north, no-one knows very well what they get up to in such inhospitable places of surfaces polished into mirrors by shards of merciless ice which reflect fierce the portentous glare of the sun blinding those foolish ...
Two days early and two extra songs for Thanksgiving week. I'm off until Monday, enjoy the rest of the week and keep checking out our photo competition between David, Cory and I. Happy Thanksgiving. Fuck Buttons – Bright Tomorrow I've listened to this song WAAAAAY too much over the last couple days. The steady beat, the fuzz, the fade into Wolf Eyes like noise, I love [...]

So this is that band i was talking about the other day, Adrienne and i were fortunate enough to catch them over SXSW and were quite impressed. or was that just me? Check em out on myspace. Post War Years- this is what last FM had to say, there's no wiki or much info on their myspace. The Post War Years are an up and coming band from Royal Leamington Spa, who (according to their Myspace page) are Latin/Hard House/Jazz but they have an Alternative/Indie edge about [...]

Fuck Buttons - Street Horrrsing North 59 at 115 while a noisy ambience filled a tiny Civic in a blending fit of high speed, electricity, and absence; think Vonnegut. I had picked the record up almost at random. I'm not sure what persuaded me to buy it. Though, it ought to satisfy the gamut of our audience. Welcome, Fuck Buttons. Fuck Buttons comes from Bristol but the duo doesn't fall victim to the dated Bristol sound. (Portishead, Massive Attack, etc...) Its an overlooked mix of distorted vocals and synths combining minimal melodies in a wash [...]
