Jon Bunch of Sense Field , Reason to Believe and (briefly) Further Seems Forever recently discussed why he started singing ("The reason why I sang was because I didn't have an instrument."), breaking away from his early "scene" days, ("I didn't want to play shows where it was predominately a gang fight.") and the inspiration behind his lyrics: I'm singing to the broken people because I'm a broken person. I'm right there with all the rest of the [...]

Dashboard Confessional/Further Seems Forever vocalist Chris Carrabba has announced a solo tour set for later this year.

Further Seems Forever performed a new song called "Wait For The Engines To Cool" at their recent show at Propaganda in Lake Worth, Florida. You can check out the video below.
Further Seems Forever got back up on that second-wave-emo horse at Florida's Propaganda last Thursday. And by the look of things , they rode the steed admirably. Needless to say, most of the night was spent tearing through classics that any self-respecting, sidebangs-wearing, denim-cuffer would wail along to. However, an unreleased track did make its way into the set. While there's been no concrete word on new material, Wait for the Ashes to Cool seems to bode well for more argyle-sweater-wearing nostalgia. Also, other hyphenated words. [...]

:: At least one major label dude wants the CD to die ...even if his bosses don't. :: If you were scared Willie Nelson might get his pigtails pulled in the pokey, have no fear. Said Hudspeth County Attorney C.R. Further Seems Forever have announced a show at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia. The show will take place on Thursday April 28th. Pre-sale tickets are already on sale . This will be the band's first U.S. show since reuniting last August.

I sat down with Nick Nowell, lead singer of The Famine , a month ago to talk about their new album, The Architects of Guilt . The weekend prior, an assassination attempt on Gabrielle Giffords had occurred, and it dominated most of our pre-interview conversation and also bled into the interview itself. It was somewhat fitting as The Famine's new album is, in large, a statement of disgust of America's current political climate. The album is out now, and I can't recommend it enough. It's heavy, passionate and intelligent - everything a [...]

This time around we talk Jay-Z and Chris Martin, king of the wigs (Phil Spector, that is), John Lennon 's toilet and golf courses (or at least the ones designed by Judas Priest guitarists). And that's in addition to me getting heckled for liking Further Seems Forever . The Music News Show (8/27/10)
Flashback Alert. Pompano Beach-based emo pioneers Further Seems Forever have announced what Creative Loafing Tampa is calling a "reunion activity" featuring all of the band's original members - including vocalist (and Dashboard Confessional frontman) Chris Carrabba. The bio on the band's new Twitter page states that the "original lineup is set for a return in Spring 2011," and Carrabba has also posted a Twitter message confirming that he has been practicing with the band. To tease fans even more, the band posted a 30-second clip of Carrabba practicing the title [...]

With the week in New Releases being slow, I don't have anything new to talk about this morning; instead, I'll talk about what's been on my mind, and certainly the minds of others recently: winter. I've had to brush my car off each morning before work, and evening after work all week. (I was off [...]
