Review - Furthur @ SDSU Open Air Theatre - San Diego, CA - 10/2/12 This review of Futhur at the SDSU Open Air Theatre comes from a long time Deadhead Robert Holmes. This if the first time Robert has submitted a review and we hope to see more work from him in the future. - Poppinoff Review - Furthur @ Open Air Amphitheater This past Tuesday October 2 2012 I saw FURTHUR at the Open Air Amphitheater at SDSU. Definitely not your average run-of-the-mill chart fodder on offer from Wellington, New Zealand’s Grouch today. Purposely sounding like a pitched down psy-trance number, ‘Octophlange’ fits perfectly into those tech-house sets which are very daring and challenging. Maintaining its true birthright in having this one rinsed out extremely loud from your speakers, this is the only way to feel the full benefit of how subtlety energetic this production really is. Alongside ‘Cheeky Darky’ as its equal counterpart, this angelic saintly model of a track incorporates heaps of creative multilayered electronic bubbles & strokes – and is [...]
Mystic Chords Of Memory - "Mongo & Arky" MP3/download I've been wanting to share this song with you for years, literally. It's one of my favorite indie unknowns of all time and just plain luscious in every way. Mystic Chords ... Continue reading

Tweet Listen to Pawncho 's new song "Furthur" below. 2011 was the year of The Weeknd , the Torontonian R&B artist who took most of your local music scenes by storm by releasing three free mixtapes between March and December. Lesser-known is the OVOXO crew of which he's a part of, featuring many an artist including Drake . Pawncho [...]

![[Introducing] – Silver Wren](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3679919_lg.jpg)
Tweet It's a rainy Saturday where I am, so what could be better than some ethereal psych-folk to pass the time? Luckily, Silver Wren is on hand to provide just that. The solo project of Gainsville, Florida-based Ross Campbell, Silver Wren started in March this year, and has already yielded two mini EPs. Ross has now taken the bulk of them, given it a bit of a polish, and released it as the five-track "Window In The Wreath". It's a pretty engrossing listen. [...]
Correatown - L.A. songwriter Angela Correa takes her band into some new plush and fuzzy electronic environs on this meticulously crafted, birkenstock-gazing sophomore album produced by Dan Long // Release : Pleiades (September 20) // Sounds like : the austere organics that saturated Correatown's 2007 album Spark. Burn. Fade. have, well, faded this time around, replaced by a slow swirling mix of drifting, droning guitar lines, interesting time signatures and dense synth washes...what hasn't changed? Correa's distinctive dichotomy at work in her singing: cool/warm, distant/intimate vocals that have just the [...]
![[Introducing] – Trwbador](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3602996_lg.jpg)
Tweet Well, this settles it: there is definitely something in the water in Wales. It does something to musicians. I'm not saying it's bad, and I'm not saying it's good, but it's definitely a bit odd. As a case in point, I present Trwbador (I don't claim to speak or read Cymraeg, but I'm guessing that's like "troubadour"). Brace yourself for a touch of the surreal. Trwbador is duo Owain Gwilym and Angharad Van Rijswijk, who hail from Carmarthenshire in the south west. [...]
The story of Osho—master, mystic, madman… “Trying to define Osho is like trying to imprison a rainbow or catch a cloud that's floating through your room. Like sand, he slips through your fingers: like a sparkling drops of dew, his magic vanishes with the rising sun of definition. Samuel Johnson, in his Preface to Shakespeare, [...]

Lando Kal -remember the name. Some of you may recognise him as one half of Lazer Sword , the West Coast duo whose self-titled 2010 LP received criticism for sounding more like a pastiche of the Ed Banger back catalog than anything original. Since that release, Lando has relocated to the home of electronic introspection, and boy has Berlin has done wonders for his music! The fact that his first solo EP is dropping on London's forward thinking Hotflush imprint is definitely a good sign, and the two tracks on the EP show an artist [...]

Filed under: Music Appreciation Who would have ever guessed that Lil Kim was a Grateful Dead fan? Definitely not us -- but we stand corrected. The rap diva apparently appreciates jam bands, as she was spotted at a Further show at NYC's Madison Square Garden recently. Seriously. There is photographic evidence to prove it. Further are the Grateful Dead's latest incarnation and feature original Dead members Bob Weir and Phil Lesh . Sources say Lil [...]

There are only 256 more hours until the light-filled, bass-heavy, kandi-flying spectacular that will be HARD Haunted Mansion 2010 finally begins! In honor of this, here are a couple tracks by two artists that are guaranteed to make a bang this year. First off is a new track from the UK dubstep duo Nero. True to the style in their other hit productions, "Me and You" brings the classic Nero blend of rock and up-tempo dubstep. Nero- [...]
Would you guys mind if I kind of just posted songs and videos and stuff without really writing that much about it? I'm down if you're down. Anyway, here's a really good song by Further!
Well now, isn’t that kind of them. The Fanclub have made an acoustic take on a brand-new song available for peanuts. This comes ahead (two whole months ahead!) of the release of their second single, ‘Poets Die Too’, which is out on November 22nd. The single itself is basically excellent. We’ve heard murmurs that indicate the debut album being due next year - sooner rather than later. Reason enough to be excited is this stripped-back version of ‘Further’. If there’s a full-band version of this in the offing [...]
The Chemical Brothers return with their incredible seventh studio album Further Studio album - Business - Music - Arts - Chemical Brothers

With all the hoopla regarding Outside Lands' mild line-up, minus one day, minus one stage, and headliners that frankly don't live up to the massive nature that the festival is known for, I didn't have huge expectations. I was, however, excited to see many acts I've never caught before and just wander around outside and enjoy some good music. Outside Lands isn't just about the music but about the food, wine, and art that surrounds the grounds. While I may have been a little disappointed with the line-up, I still love Outside Lands and vibe it gives off. [...]

Chemical Brothers have premiered the music video for " Another World ". The track is off the groups latest album, ' Further '. The video was directed by Adam Smith and Marcus Lyall with the help of design team Flat Nose George .
