The second annual Together Boston festival launches next week and is clearly not suffering from the sophomore slump. This year's edition of the citywide electronic music event, which runs April 18-25, is bringing in some top-name talent, including a live performance by Trentemøller, Above & Beyond, Switch, Pantha Du Prince, Anton Pieete, Mary Anne Hobbs, [...]

Future Rock is an electronic jam band that comes from Chicago. The trio usually likes to tour around the Midwest and has a pretty solid following that keeps growing every day. I was going to see them when they came to Indianapolis for Knollfest but it ended up being a rainy clusterfuck, so unfortunately I missed it. These guys rock hard live and this album showcases their artistic abilities. Lots of smooth transitions and improvisations on this release that will make the listener beg for more, and it is available for free on their [...]

No matter your thoughts on the lineup you have to admire the ambition of the North Coast Music Festival . Holding a late-summer festival at Union Park, after artists and fans have already been picked over by established behemoths Lollapalooza and Pitchfork, not to mention the countless local street fests, seemed to be a recipe for disaster. But thanks to some unique booking and one of the most pervasive ad campaigns I've ever seen for a festival, they did pull it off, apparently selling 40,000 tickets. Oddly, part of the festival's success may be related to [...]

Speculation about the act lineup for the North Coast Music Festiva l began as early as March when it was announced the first edition of the fest would take place over labor day weekend, September 3 - 5, in Union Park - the same park Pitchfork Fest calls home. Well, the speculation can end today as the North Coast Music Festival has revealed it's debut artist lineup, which culls together an eclectic group of hip-hop, electronic and jam band acts. The festival will boast three headliners, presumably one for each day, and include the [...]

For nine years now, the Disco Biscuts have held their very own summer music festival. And for nine years now, the Philadelphia jam band has proven that it is as good at curating lineups as it is shelling out music. After all, for Camp Bisco 9 , the Biscuits have rounded together a lineup that is headed by LCD Soundsystem, Ween, and Thievery Corporation. (They already have like half of the U.S. festivals beat right there). Plus, acts like Girl Talk, Ghostland Observatory, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Major Lazer, Diplo, Aeroplane, Gui Boratto, Felix Cartel, Telepath, Future Rock, [...]

Tune in every Saturday night 9-10:30 MST to catch me spinning (digitally) the latest and greatest... This week I interviewed Frank from one of my favorite new bands: Keepaway. While he wouldn't say which label, Frank did mention that the band was this close to signing with a label we'd all be familiar with. Specifically we were talking about Toro Y Moi, Memory Tapes and other Chillwave artists when he said "Based on the bands we've been talking about I think you'll know them (the label)." You can listen to a replay [...]
