Here, Friday night turned out to be stacks of craic. I'd been in London all week and didn't really have a chance to promote the club. I was expecting it to be a wee bit quiet, and while it wasn't as busy as usual, there were loads of familiar faces down, which to be honest is a lot more fun than a tons more people that I don't know. I ended up playing a shed load of hip hop, which seemed to go down a treat. Seeing Nik Bannon , and Cassy Gillespie on the other side [...]

Can't do a post about Swick and leave out his buddy Tranter . You probs know him from 'Fruit Salad' Rap group, Gameboy Gamegirl , who used to feature Ben 'Miami Horror' as their producer before he set off to conquer the world. Anyway, Tranter has been killing it for ages now, most specifically with his super fun, tropical- esqe , remixes of some great songs. I'm talking bout Johnathon Boulet's 'Community Service Announcement ', [...]

Tranter of Gameboy/Gamegirl just sent us this great tropical rub a dub for their newest song "Go 2 Skool" in celebration of their 100th show which is happening in Melbourne this Friday!!! I wish I was there. If you guys are around go check them out. They are definitely one of my favorite acts ever at my party Light's Down Low. Let's cross our fingers for some more tracks and maybe a reunion USA tour. Gameboy/Gamegirl- "Go 2 Skool(Tranter's Club Dub Remix)"

Tranter has given his oprego treatment to a new Gameboy/Gamegirl track and it's #good. As we've told you before, the Melbourne scene is ripe with tropical beats and refreshing sounds that are gaining some real recognition the world over. Only the other week did the scatterblog crew release a bunch of moombaton mixes of songs that were even praised by Dave Nada, the creator of the genre (check out Deckhead for more Moombahton info). This song is like pineapple on your burger. Get on it. Go 2 Skool (Tranter's Club Dub) - [...]

Gameboy/Gamegirl are celebrating their 100th show at thr Mercat Cross Basement on May 14th ( facebook event for Melbourners ). Should be rad! I wanna go and am going to. If you don't know about Gamegirl/Gamegirl try reading this lil bit from their press release: 4 or so years ago, Gameboy Gamegirl became a surprise hit when blogs started writing them up as a new kind of awesome before they had even played their first show. But in reality, it was a bunch of [...]

" Nada como relembrar os velhos tempos , Gameboy Gamegirl marcou muito, a originalidade e dinamica do grupo é muito "nova", mesmo quando ouço as músicas antigas do grupo sinto-me mais " jovem ", o som deles é algo que levanta muito." "Nothing like remembering the old days , Gameboy Gamegirl very marked, the unique and dynamic group is very "new", even when I hear the old songs the group feel more " young ", their sound is something that raises a lot. " [...]

Hold tight for this Friday's first edition of Radiostation at Zappa, Antwerp! With Zombie Disco Squad , Benny Page and Trolley Snatcha , they managed to present a genre-crossing quality line up. ZOMBIE DISCO SQUAD has been featured on these pages a couple of times before. With releases on Dirtybird, Made To Play and Sound Pellegrino, 2009 was a ridiculously good year for these guys! Their combination of tropical percussion and tech house has really set a trend. Idiotproof - Gorilla (Zombie Disco Squad "Add Acapella Here" [...]

Dat is namelijk Make You Mine. Make You Mine is een heerlijke discotrack, die eigenlijk al uit is sinds begin dit jaar. Met handclaps, [...]

London based record label, Dead Fish , has to be hands down one of my favorite labels out there right now. Created by Michael Savasta (aka Mowgli ) in 2008, Dead Fish, is quickly becoming one of the biggest tech-house labels to date. With an all-star lineup backing them up, Dead Fish has solid releases every 20 days. I'm dedicating this post to those brilliant producers, spreading their infectious dance tunes throughout your houses/studios/clubs/concerts. Mowgli- Sequencer (Original Mix) Download audio [...]

Butchers do Role Photograph by Marcelo Elídio When Bonde do Role first emerged was really exciting. The baile funk beats seen through their eyes was not only refreshing, but also really enjoyable. Then their live set saw the crowed go mental in a way that'a rarely seen. Unfortunately the trio couldn't handle the tension of touring, and the main singer left the band. Some months later, the boys decided to pick up some new singers via an MTV reality show and [...]

Fruit Fight! Crunk, Rattle n Roll Sadly Gameboy/Gamegirl is no longer together, but when I asked the band this week if they could play a show in Auckland in June, they said they'd consider reforming for one final show. Let's hope it happens. For those unfamiliar with Gameboy/Gamegirl, they are a three piece electro hip-hop troupe from Melbourne, Australia, whose music is all about the party and making the most out of life while you're young enough to do so. Their lyrics are quirky and totally make [...]

This one was damn hard to finish. Trawling through the best remixes from 2008 made me realise just how much terrific music we heard last year, and how many brilliant remixes there were to love. So, like Mum always used to say, there's no time like one month into 2009 to finish your list of the best remixes of 2008, son. Wise words, Ma. 10. Gameboy/Gamegirl - Fruit Salad (CSK OK Remix) My boy Cassian really brought his A-Game in 2008. He built on his already promising base of infectious electro with a slew [...]

Boss In Drama is a producer from Brazil who is working on some tracks for the upcoming Bonde Do Role album. He seems to have some solid connections in Australia aswell since he is producing tracks for KillaQueenz and for the new project of the girls from Gameboy/Gamegirl (called Girls Got Child). He's going to release his debut EP "Your Favorite EP" for free on January 26th and this track "Favorite Song" gives us a taste of his brand of electropop. Boss In Drama - Favorite Song (YSI) Boss [...]

Today our friend Boss In Drama sent over a track from his upcoming EP (Your Favorite EP - out Jan 26 via Myspace) titled " Favorite Song ", and to be honest I'm completely blown away by how much his sound has evolved in such a short period of time. Its a that track would be completely acceptable to drop in any blog inspired DJ set while still maintaining enough pop appeal to make it on US mainstream radio, not an easy feat! Great combo of funk, electro, pop, and even a little hip hop, it [...]

As many of you know, Miami Horror's EP is dropping TODAY in Australia. So go out and get it . I'm blown away by how strong the five tracker is. Each jam is a solid as the next (Bellevue probs my fave). Totally with your pocket money. And come on, it's Miami. He's like part of the family! But with rockin' curls.
