Last night it rained, not a furious rain falling in sheets but a steady drop by drop rain. I had my bedroom window opened, and I fell asleep to the sound of the drops. Not too long ago, electronica collective Jalebee Cartel officially announced that they were moving on to greener pastures (read the story here ) and one of the members, G "Force" Arjun was already deep into his own side-project by this point. You might assume that he went back to making thrash metal or perhaps he's moved on to a solo career, but his latest venture is a bit more interesting than all of that. Following his team-up with Big Sean and Paul Wall on last week’s “Ol’ Skool Pontiac,” Jeremih links up with The Game for his latest rap&B collabo, “Let Loose.” While a lot of R&B artists try Hip-Hop influences on for size, Jeremih has a way of ingraining himself into Southern rap rhythms in a way that seems inherently natural. No word on whether it will show up on Jeremih’s upcoming Thumpy Johnson album, but “Let Loose” is plenty good enough to ride around with for a bit. [...]

On new track "Games", Munich's Claire distill through neatly-constructed synth pop an interesting mix of sounds and influences for the genre. Touchstones from house, to urban music, to more traditional pop are all assembled here, and done so in a way that's both different (a standout song in a currently crowded genre) and tuneful (there are three of four melodies here that could be a chorus.) I seriously can't remember the last subpar track Jeremih has been a part of. Dude is really out here playing homerun derby with California Redwoods, and "Let Loose" is yet another ball that's going yard. This song is a heater, and almost as good as their previous collaboration on The Game's " All That ." The hi-hat train and snare hits makes this feel like a R&B version of Ace Hood & Future's " Bugatti ," which isn't a bad thing at all. Look out for Jeremih's upcoming album, [...]
