The GANGI duo are Time Travelers, taking from the past and the future and inventing new genres in today’s space-time… across history forward and back, and it’s all levy, as present is, but said that way, one states… a different space-time. GANGI’s music is a bit disorienting, spanning across these many different genres… a fact they blame on all the bright lights and industrial / informational noise they encounter and we are all surrounded with as we go about our daily business in these post info age times. GANGI takes almost every aspect of their music production upon themselves at [...]

![[Listen] GANGI: "Hindering The Sight Of Threatening Events" (Rainbow Arabia Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4596465_lg.jpg)

The ‘gesture is’ a thumbs up for GANGI’s sophomore effort. Office of Analogue and Digital, 2012 6.8 / 10.0 GANGI’s sophomore album, gesture is, is creative enough to thwart simple categorization. The one time solo project of Matt Gangi (now duo with Eric Chramosta) flies through a variety [...]

From their latest release Gesture Is !

Psych duo GANGI have just released their latest album gesture is on lead singer Matt Gangi's own label, Office of Analogue and Digital. We've already heard their newest single " Gold ," but now the band has released the official video to the song. The video shows the band playing across various locations-a beach, an abandoned factory, a freeway, a gold fabric lined room-while two seemingly random people dance behind the band in some scenes. The expansive aspects of the song, the soaring vocals and crashing drums, fit the open-air feel of the locations. The duo feel at [...]

Indie rockers Fall Classic like keep things loose. On their latest release, Nerves , which you can download on their Bandcamp at a "name your price" option, goes for both the acoustic and delicate folky leanings to a more emotionally driven rock experience. Most of the songs are driven by lead singer Andrew Fatato's smokey croon that's truly FM radio-ready. "Stay" is a slow-burning take that rides along guitars that are both simultaneously jagged and spacey, while "Brothers" opens a bit more muscular with big riffs before settling into a thumping, [...]

Something more oddball and experimental today Gangi is the LA based duo of Matt Gangi and Eric Chramosta. The duo’s album Gesture Is was released yesterday and it is an intriguing listen with their music coming across as grungy, trippy, experimental psych pop. It takes a while to grow on you but it is worth investing that kind of time . The standout songs on the album for me are [...]

► Garbage headlines the Palladium behind their new album "Not Your Kind of People," with Screaming Females opening. ► The Shins visit the Gibson Amphitheatre of their acclaimed new album "Port of Morrow," and joining them on this tour is Washed Out , the woozy electronic band fronted by Ernest Greene whose own new album "Within and Without" has gotten a lot of deserved love too. That's Washed OUt's video for "Dedication," above. ► The legendary Emmylou Harris visit's UCLA's Riyce Hall. ► The Lumineers do a second [...]
First up, for October (or, where did my September go, I seem to have misplaced it?): ► A year ago last week, the Lumineers did a date at the Hotel Cafe. Twelve months and a load of album sales later, the Denver-based folkies are doing a two-night stand at the Fonda Theatre, with both shows sold out. Above is L.A.-based director Ben Fee's video for their hit "Ho Hey" — almost 8 million views, and counting. ► Huge month ahead at the Echo and Echoplex, where there will be dual residencies and the [...]

As GANGI 's sophomore record gesture approaches the October 3rd release date via The Office of Analogue and Digital , we get taste of another tune called "Gold." If you haven't heard of this band before, they sort of fit in with the indie/psychedelic bands like Animal Collective , but they have more emphasis on the indie/rock side of things. The distorted guitars, mixed with the tight drum beats, and Matt Gangi's voice prove to be a winning structure. Stream it below. Fresh? [...]

GANGI create music that spans genres and roots around in the analog psych machinations of bands like Animal Collective and Neon Indian, though with a slighter more indie rock structure. Their sophomore LP gesture is comes out October 3rd via The Office of Analogue and Digital . They've already released one track from the album, the echo-drenched rocker " Outside Ones ", and in preparation for the album's physical release, they've gone ahead and given us a second taste of the record. Second single "Gold" wears its distortion and thumping martial beats like a badge of honor, with [...]
