Monday, and it's already a ridiculous night for shows: That familiar face you can spot playing the early set tonight at Gangi's residency at Spaceland is actor/director Adam Goldberg , who will be fronting his musical project LANDy . Matt Gangi and Lyle Nesse — the men behind the machines in the L.A. duo Gangi — imagine their music as cinema, in hi-def on a widescreen. "We were talking to a producer and Matt told him, 'I really want it to sound like an industrial silo in the middle of an open field,'" Nesse says. "The guy didn't know what to think. Gangi is the eclectic musical duo of Matt Gangi and Lyle Nesse. Originally from Brooklyn, where Matt wrote and recorded the first album A , they moved to L.A. to get some sun and space and accidentially encounter Mandy Moore. You take a Swedish band and place them in Italy to record an album filled with everything from Blues to Calypso, from Psychedelic to African and Caribbean Music... it can only be a the new Voodoo Rhythm project. Mama Rosin is Cyril "Jeter" Yeterian, Robin A. Girod, and Power Van's Fischer, and this trio has sizzled through Cajun set around the world.
