Sacramento psych outfit Ganglians have a new album out titled Still Living , which is slathered in a slightly soured Beach Boys-like sheen. To me, it's a mutant's take on sunshine pop from the 60s. The band recently did an acoustic session with the people at terroreyes.tv, and caught the song "That's What I Want" on tape. Considering how hazy this band's recordings are, it's pretty interesting to hear them, well, "in the nude," I guess.

Op het Le Guess Who festival vorig jaar viel mij al op dat Ganglians zonniger klonk dan ze zich voordoen op het album Monster Head Room (en dat in november). Althans, dat probeerden ze, want tijdens het optreden ging er van alles mis, vooral op technisch gebied. Toch was dit een teken aan de wand dat een vervolg minder “rock” en “lo-fi” zou worden, en wat meer “pop” en “surf”. Even though Terroreyes had made the move from Sacramento to Los Angeles over the summer that wouldn't stop Sean from filming his good friends Ganglians during their recent tour. And while the two have worked together several times in the California state capital this video differs a bit from the high energy shots that made up the others.
