by BBG Greg Fox behind the kit with White Hills ( more by BBG ) As discussed , Greg Fox of Liturgy is GDFX , and as just mentioned , his new LP One Thing is out NOW via Impose on blue vinyl. While the LP is definitely heavy on Fox's weapon of choice (drums) at times, it isn't in many of the ways you would expect. The new LP touches on stuttering samples, [...]

It's time to listen to a bunch of the tracks I have not posted recently. Here is the next NOT POSTED mix. These are just a few of the songs that would get their own individual posts here on GIMME TINNITUS if I only had the time. You can stream all the songs in this mix using the Yahoo media player at the bottom of the page OR if you are browsing with Chrome you can play (and scrobble ) the whole page using the ex.fm extension OR you [...]

Liturgy's Greg Fox is an amazing drummer, one who showcases an otherworldly serenity, even when destroying his kit. Outside of Liturgy, he's a NYC noise/art-rock staple who's made sounds with Amen Dunes, Teeth Mountain, Guardian Alien, Family Of Love, the Boredoms Boadrum, and the Dan Deacon Ensemble. And many tweets about marijuana. My favorite non-Liturgy Fox-related music comes from his one-man GDFX project. It seems like the most personal and, I think, offers the best sense of Greg as a person. Take a listen to "LAOQI > TULA," a collage of tracks 10 and 11 from his [...]

We're beyond extremely pleased to be releasing the debut LP from Liturgy/Teeth Mountain/Dan Deacon Ensemble/Guardian Alien/Amen Dunes/Family of Love/Boadrums drummer/musical octopus on our record label. The beautiful thing about the record, called One Thing and out August 16, is the number of alternative records we've been sent by Fox over the past couple years as possibilities--records that stylistically span the gamut of noise and electronic beat music--because Greg is as prolific a re...

GDFX is the solo electronics project of Greg Fox who also creates music with Teeth Mountain , Family Of Love , and the transcendentalblackmetal unit Liturgy . The Noise! Festival kicks off tonight at the Ontological Hysteric Theater (131 East 10th Street at 2nd Avenue in Manhattan). Despite the "festival" part of the name, I suspect it will feel more like three small shows over the course of three nights, which is often just part of the charm of noise festivals. The performances will be streamed (video and audio) by free103point9.org , so if you can't make it you can still check it out! In addition, each night's performance starts with an act transmitting their set from a remote location (New Zealand, Greece, and, [...]
So, the lovely folks at RVNG have come up with the goodies once again, this time it is Purple Brain (aka Bumrocks and Jason from Hey Convict!) at the helm of the transdimensional space jetty who sail across murky wormholes eventually arriving at the darken lair of the funk butcher, ...

Anyone who's familiar with the Brooklyn and Baltimore scenes has run across GDFX at one point or another. You might know him better as one of the members of Teeth Mountain and the newest drummer for Liturgy . Or maybe you're looking forward to seeing him on his current stint backing Dan Deacon as part of Deacon's 14-person touring ensemble . And if you're really in the know, maybe you've booked a show at Market Hotel through him or are hip to his micro-label Infinite Limbs . [...]

Another freak, electronic outfit who now calls Brooklyn home and like giving away their music for free, which is good news for us. With an ambiance of Soft Circle , the frenetic craziness of Lucky Dragons and the pop sensibilities of Dan Friel , dANA mixes anything and everything to pull off hipster noise-art that doesn't make us cringe. Once again taking a tip from our friends who have their ears firmly planted to the ground, Impose posted the entire [...]
