Let me start off by saying, this isn't a review as much as an appreciative observation. Gene Ween's been getting most the love around here lately with his new side project The Gene Ween Band, which is a great band...but I wanna show some love of Deaner's side project The Moistboyz. I shouldnt need to say this, but these guys kick the shit out of anything in there path. Where as The Gene Ween Band is Gener's outlet to play his Beatles- esque Ween tunes, The Moistboyz is Deaner's outlet to shred and play some grimey rock. After a nasty case of either pneumonia or the boogie woogie flu that led to the cancellation of a number of tour dates, Ween vocalist Aaron Freeman has just announced the rescheduled dates for his Gene Ween Band project. Gener, guitarist Scott Metzger, bassist Dave Dreiwitz and drummer "Sir" Joe Russo plan to hit Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg on February 7 before heading to Philadelphia's World Cafe Live on February 12.
