Bushmills Live , which takes place at the Old Bushmills Distillery in Northern Ireland June 20th and 21st, just got more exciting with the addition of Benjamin Francis Leftwich , Marcus Foster , The Staves , General Fiasco and David C Clements to the line-up.

Only at SXSW can you manage to travel to multiple countries in a span of a couple hours. Well, not literally of course, but it is possible to see bands from many different corners of the globe in one afternoon. I achieved this in just hours on the club-filled Sixth Street, followed swiftly by the Discovering Scotland showcase at Latitude 30. Sixth Street is every bit as legendary as the tourist trap t-shirts that advertise its amazingness. Everywhere you turn, you will either run into a band hanging out, playing [...]

I've thought about this for a while now and decided to go for it! Here's the first Top 3 list on a single topic and today it's the Top 3 songs about Fools! Phil Lynott - The Man's A Fool Written in 1982 and included on his self titled album, 'The Man's a Fool' is a full on 80's dance/rock fusion that Phil experimented with. The vocals are still amazing and it's a pretty decent track! [...]

Sometimes, even in the competitive world of music blogging, an editor needs to take time out for herself. One of the SXSW showcases I was most looking forward to hunkering myself down at was the Northern Irish showcase being put on at the Tap Room at Six on Wednesday night. Oddly, the line-up was pretty much the same at British Music Embassy's Monday night show at Latitude 30, so had I arrived a day earlier, I could have caught that bill instead, but I suppose it was just my good luck [...]

To celebrate the release of their predictably fantastic Don't You Ever EP, which came out last week, perennial Blue Walrus favourites General Fiasco have recorded an acoustic version of The Bottom . The original version of the song appeared on a Smalltown America compilation ( Public Service Broadcast #10 - there's a link to the stream, so go nuts!) in October of last year, and is set to appear on the band's eagerly-awaited second album. The video of their live performance is below, and we have an exclusive of the mp3 from that performance to [...]

The HMV Next Big Thing Festival has been going on for a few years now and has slowly grown into one of the most reputable places to see some incredible acts before they break the big time. Last year, TGTF were lucky enough to see the likes of Young the Giant and Kill it Kid playing support slots at the Barfly. This time last year, James Blake played tonight's 300-capacity venue just a few days before the release of his debut album ( read the review here ). [...]
