Melbourne's Geoffrey O'Connor – also a member of The Crayon Fields – couldn't possibly sound be dispassionate in his new video for "Proud," which dropped last week. "I can't tell that people flirt with me, because I'm miserable," he coolly intones, against a heady backdrop of sax-fueled angst. So tragedy glam. The purple-hued video itself is an ode to blasé chic, from O'Connor's mirrored browline glasses to a scene where he takes pills featuring his own likeness (meta!) on the bottle before finally OD'ing. Good thing that bombastic, borderline cheesy '80s synths keep the track from being a total downer. [...]

Sounding highly reminiscent to Gabriel & Dresden's remix of Gustavo Santaolalla's 'The Wings' (on Butyreux's re-rub of 'Whatever Leads Me To You'), Butyreux (pronounced butirò) puts his unique classification of the house music genre to one side, programmes up his selection of alternative dance, house and disco records - and combines this love across Mothead and Geoffrey O'Connor dramatically. Time to call up those smoke machines and glowsticks Boys & Girls ... GEOFFREY O'CONNOR - Whatever Leads Me To You (Butyreux remix)

The Australians with the name of Indian Summer DJs are exactly what they claim to be. Their sets of indie disco mixes are blithe and effortlessly warm. With past works on hits like Foster The People and Architecture in Helsinki, their latest piece is with Geoffrey O'Conor's "So Sorry". Indian Summer DJs colored the track with a [...]

With past works on hits like Foster The People and Architecture in Helsinki, their latest piece is with Geoffrey O'Conor 's "So Sorry". Indian Summer DJs colored the track with a luminance to compliment your favorite Ray Ban glasses. Listen to the mix of "So Sorry" below. One of my faves, Geoffrey O'Connor, gets disco-housed by Melbourne's Hidden Suns. Check it: Geoffrey O'Connor - So Sorry (Hidden Suns Remix) by Hidden Suns Get Geoffrey... [go to the website to read the rest of the article, download mp3s and more]

MP3: Geoffrey O'Connor - So Sorry (Chet Faker remix) Geoffrey O'Connor's debut solo album, Vanity Is Forever , really capitalises on the potential he's always had to sound breathy and sensual, but this remix - from fellow Melburnian Chet Faker - explores a different aspect of romantic song. Chet Faker takes the original 's noir-ish '80s pop-rock forward ten years in time and, in the best possible way, evokes the particular brand of downtempo sensuality made popular by the Cafe Del Mar series. It's brilliant to hear those cold, dubby [...]

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars Long have we lauded the sounds of Crayon Fields , the wonderful Australian pop group, but now we have more reason to cheer, as singer Geoffrey O' Connor steps outside the band, releasing his first album under his own name. If anything, Vanity is Forever , establishes O' Connor as more than your average songwriter; his apparent gifts are too great to label him anywhere near average. From the moment "So [...]

Loving this new track "Whatever Leads Me To You" by Australian artist Geoffrey O'Connor the frontman for the band Crayon Fields . ' Vanity Forever ' is his first album as a solo artist under his own name and this first single is a beaut! Gorgeous track that takes me back to the hey days of 90's brit-pop. Like a mixture of David Bowie & Jarvis Cocker, it's an exquisite sultry track. Download the track below and check out the stylishly colorful [...]

This week, New York welcomes Iron and Wine , Stars , Jens Lekman , Dominant Legs , and more in what will be an absolutely incredible few days of music. Geoffrey O'Connor and Jens Lekman are the anti-rockstars who brought the house down at their sold-out Ethical Society show on a warm October night. Have you ever had that experience where you're going to a show that you're not so sure about? Where you have no idea what to expect or really what these artists are about? You just sort of walk into the venue a virgin, a naive girl or boy who's just out to see a show. That was me: clueless, unsuspecting, and left out of the inside joke. I was [...]

It was a chilly San Francisco night at the world famous California Academy of Sciences as Australian crooner Geoffrey O'Connor and Swedish singer-songwriting heartthrob Jens Lekman took the stage at the East Garden. The museum's Nightlife series is always a mature themed journey through modern media culture and science and that night's mix was no different. Geoffrey O'Connor Geoffrey O'Connor Supporting the Treasure Island Music Festival pre-party show was Australian 80s-inspired purple glazed Geoffrey [...]
