One album, three or so delirious years and a lot of patter about being the next Led Zeppelin later, Australia's Wolfmother disintegrated in 2008 in a cloud of "irreconcilable personal and musical differences." Frontman Andrew Stockdale has now replaced original members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett with a new lineup and is finishing up a new album. (The song "Back Round" is available for free download from the band's website.) L.A. could very likely get a taste of new Wolfmother very soon — I hear rumors the Aussies will be added to the lineup for the May 1 [...]

Get Set Go Im probably late again with this one but as they say... late is better than never. One thing that amazes me about Get Set Go is their capability to express anger while chanelling it to sweet and mellow songs much more intended for poppy pop songs. You thought you're listening to another love-me-coz-i-love-you-masquer ade thats heard everywhere, til you hear the lyrics and begin to understand the story of the songs. Not to confuse you though, this band hit the spot in balancing the melody and words of the songs. And yes [...]

I was recently turned on to a pretty decent electronic-pop duo from New York called The Ropes . The first song of theirs I checked out was I Don't Like to Get Dirty from their Cry to the Beat EP . "You can all go fuck yourselves/You can all go burn in hell" Sharon Shy gently croons in the song's opening lines and I am immediately taken aback and sucked in at the same time. [...]

I was sent this cd a couple of months ago and finally had the time to sit down and really listen to it. If my cd would have come with the cd insert that you see to your left, I think that I would have moved it up to my to do list. The cd insert really does tell you so much about this band. Their songs and lyrics are straight to the point, sarcastic, depressing, and down-right hilarious. On the band's myspace page they list ten reasons why people love them(with number ten [...]
This is definitely one of those indie dominating weeks, with new releases from the likes of Cat Power , Dengue Fever , The Whigs or Get Set Go . Some highlights include Charlyn Marshall's (Cat Power) " Jukebox ," her second cover album, filled with great renditions of such classics as James Brows, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan or Lee Clayton , as well as Athens, Georgia garage rock trio The Whigs and their sophomore release Mission Control . This latest album from the southerners is definitely a more then [...]

I'm still not sure why I titled this mix "fix me now" although maybe at the time I was working on this slice of music it was a cry for help. I've been dealing with a lot lately. I think that's all that needs to be vomited here. So below is the mix. Bowing to popular opinion I have decided to upload the mix as a single file download. The individual songs are still available here, but if you want to just snag them all at one time I've supplied [...]
