The collaboration between DOOM and Ghostface killah ( DOOM/STARKS ) had been a rumour for so long it was starting to wear stale. But then shit got interesting. Their label, Nature Sounds , have been tweeting recently that news, or at the very least a solid announcement, were just around the corner. For some people it got even more exciting. Certain people who bought the ' DOOM x Akomplice box ' were mailed a limited tape recently, featuring a remix of the album track ' victory laps '. Although not strictly an album [...]

Doc Zeus is taking this back to the days before he had a certified player hating degree. Flashback to the summer of 2005: America was in the midst of year five of the George W. Bush "Appetite For Destruction" tour, my beloved Cleveland Cavaliers had just signed the Incomparable Larry Hughes and his 40.7% career shooting percentage to a five-year, $70 million dollar contract, and for a young Pre-Med Zeus, my Ghostface and Doom fandom were at all-time highs. A year earlier, Doom had just released Madvillainy to the astonishment of all [...]
Found via Mostly Junkfood , here's a compilation of Ghostface Killah and Wu-Tang verses thrown together with afrobeat instrumentals. Produced by Max Tannone, this dude just made two of my favorite worlds collide harder than that asteroid in the hit movie Armageddon would have if Bruce Willis didn't have the guts to stop it. Stream the entire project below, and download it right here .

Show of hands, who expected this project to actually happen? I, for one, never expected this to see the light of day. DOOM and Ghostface Killah first mentioned working together way, way back in 2006, then released "Angelz" on DOOM's 2009 LP, Born Like This . But their partnership seemed to vanish into thin air, and years passed with no word from this duo. But out of the blue, here's "Victory Laps," which debuted a few nights back on Peter Rosenberg's Hot 97 show. And somehow, despite having to [...]
MP3 Under the collaborative name "DoomStarks," (MF) DOOM and Ghostface Killah should be dropping a new album later this year. It's just one more reason that 2011 is proving to be a stellar year for hip hop. Seems I'm freaking out over rap albums left and right these days, I know. Anyway, "Victory Laps" doesn't seem to be the album track we'll be hearing later this year. Rather, it's a remix, but the song is still undeniably gritty, straightforward, and made of the same kind of straight spitting that usually makes DOOM tracks so [...]

Max Tannone is back with a fresh bag of remixes, this time in centre-frame is Tony Stark's trademark abstract dungeon-soul-slang style, cut with puro-duro vintage African funk, high-life, and psychedelic rock music. It seems rather frivolous to call When Fish Ride Bicycles the debut LP for Chicago/Detroit rappers, The Cool Kids . After all, it's been three years since the release of The Bake Sale , the EP that started it all, and since then the group has unleashed a handful of mixtapes and singles. It just doesn't seem right. But, in one sense, the Cool Kids are debuting a new sound. They still produce their own beats, and rap old-school about girls, cars, and how expensive plane tickets are, but collaborating with Pharrell, Bun B, Ghostface, [...]

Through ingenius efforts of past, Max Tannone has made a name for taking a hip hop foundation and playfully fusing it with an alternative theme, now gifting fans with his latest creative fusion Ghostfunk . To name a couple of his finest, Jaydiohead and Mos Dub were in many ways classics - compilations reminiscent of the seasons they released in that could be left on repeat for days. Ghostfunk, in the words of Tannone, [...]

Damn, this is huge. Swift & Changeable , the long-delayed project from Ghostface and DOOM (under the moniker DOOMSTARKS) has been in the works and floating around the internet rumor mill for upwards of five years now, and we are finally seeing this project come to fruition. According to XXL , the album is nearly done, with DOOM behind the boards on the entire collaboration with Ghostface appearing on nearly the entire album, save one or two cuts. Check out the first release "Victory Laps," which is currently available on cassette tape here with a 123 [...]

Ghostface Killah is one the best rappers of all time. Did you know that? Look it up. Remix master/producer/genius/dj Max Tannone (who was responsible for the Jaydiohead project) also has a fondness for the Wu-Tang man as he's paired the lyrical flow of Ghostface with the instrumentation of African Funk/High-life/Pysch-Rock. The results are amazing. Put this on, eat some good food, have a dance and enjoy. You've done it again Max. What's next?

Oh yes. The Ghost/Doom collab is real and it's fire. Get familiar with this sneak peak. DoomStarks - Victory Laps (Madvillainz Remix) DoomStarks ( Info ) Rating: 8.333333

We've been hearing about this DOOM and Ghostface project for as long as we can remember (which doesn't say much), and today we get a first listen. The song will be released on a limited edition red cassette tape (uh) and will hit iTunes on July 26th. No other real news about this project, but experts expect a second single sometime around April of 2032. Listen to a radio rip of "Victory Lap," produced by DOOM and Madlib (together, Madvillain) track below... DOOMSTARKS (DOOM x Ghostface) – "Victory Lap [...]

Matt Tannone, the mashup producer behind Jaydiohead and MosDub's latest project GhostFunk features Wu-Tang's Ghostface Killah set to bumping African funk, high-life, and psychedelic rock. Listen to the album below and download via Tannone's site . Ghostfunk by Max Tannone

Wow what a great track to start the week with. People have been waiting for the DOOM & Ghostface Killah collobartion for 5+ years and now it looks like it might actually all come together. This track is called "Victory Laps" and right now we only have the radio rip but the original un-remixed track will be made available, via iTunes, on July 26th. I should also know that this was produced by a collaboration between DOOM and Madvillian. Hopefully DOOM doesn't play the "villain" and actually releases this album like they say he will. The [...]
Remember that mixtape that dropped two years ago called Jaydiohead that somehow successfully blended Jay-Z and Radiohead tracks? Well, the guy ( Max Tannone ) behind that project has since stepped away from mixing together two popular artists. And, instead, he has blended his favorite rappers' a cappellas with choice genres, such as on this brand-new affair, Ghostfunk . It combines -- you guessed it -- Ghostface Killah verses with Afrofunk rhythms for something that shouldn't necessarily sound this good but it just...does. We're not usually the biggest fans of stuff like this, [...]
