Despite being one WTFuckery summer; beating us over with lashings of heat, humidity, and precipitation... I've not found it to have a stride for me. Nor a voice to bring it into context. Of course it makes sense, confrontations never go well. Though the sailing winds have been blowing us around the lake quite well, no release; WTFuckery indeed. All known be told, the lack of snow this past winter has only increased my appetite. Of course staring at 2 new snowboards ( Kass C2BTX & Illuminati Evolver (Thanks Lance!)) and the idea of a highback-less [...]
So I haven't published a Mailbag for about a zillion years, and for that I apologize. I would claim I've been busy, but that would be lying. I owe you a good one, so here we go. Sorry If some of these track are a touch old, I've been building up for a while... Vitamin #1: In honor of the ridiculous goals I saw the Netherlands score in their pretty convincing win over Uruguay, I'm starting off with a little of that dirty dutch. Don't know who dropped me these Disco Killah [...]

/> Streetkiss Music is organizing with Taktal a big party in London this bank holiday week-end. I’m playing (under the name RADAR!) with two other amazing DJs, Badrob and Lolak, in the Castle Bar near Brick Lane (44 Commercial Road, E1 1NL) on next Saturday from a night on filthy pop electro from 12 PM. Suscribe to the Facebook event here . To train before that, try these few massive tracks with, at first, the English duo who breaks all at the moment, Jack [...]

It's been awhile ladies and gents, my sincerest apologies. while miami becomes super consumed with this 'tech-house' broohaha, the west coast knows what's really good and loves to throw down some SERIOUS hardness. During the mystical weekend I spent wandering through the empire polo club fields, i found a new and undying appreciation for dubstep. While trying to decipher my music choices for the day on the third and final day of coachellalalala, i was caught in the wonder that was the sahara tent bewildered by the intensity rusko brought to the table. If the beats [...]

One of my favorite new bands these days is a band called Giants. They are an instrumental band from Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota. If you know me and my musical taste these days, you know that this band plays cinematic, beautiful sweeping instrumental music alla This Will Destroy You, Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed and a less metal-y Pelican. I was able to email James(and the rest of the band) to get an idea of what influenced them and how they have a band that's in three states at once.. (Check the [...]

What's up durrty dancers?! While many heads are reeling after the fun filled frivolities of WMC and Ultra in Miami, for me this past week has been a dubfilled one. Since spending most of Beyond Wonderland wiling out at the dub stage, I've not wanted to listen to much else. So with no holds barred here are my picks from the last ten days: • [...]

We have had quite a VW week with Contra songs and performances a plenty. We have not however seen a B-Side come out until today. Check out Giant .... definitely worth a listen, streaming here.

I love this dubstep remix of Dire Straits, Money For Nothing by Giants, it's short but cool. Here in a Lulu Rouge edit. Dire Straits, Money For Nothing - Giants Remix - Lulu Rouge Edit Download here (Right Click, Save As).

Alicia Keys on yet another magazine cover to promote The Element Of Freedom . Posted in Beats, Yankee Panky Tagged: alicia keys, cover, element, freedom, giant, new, of, pictures

Alicia Keys covers the Jan. 2010 issue of Giant magazine. Thanks to Alicia Keys Daily , we have the scans of the full editorial. That face; chiseled to the T, so symmetrical! Alright, that's enough for now but she's gorgeous as usual in this spread. She stands out in both the black and white and color images.
Yo all. Been a few days since we posted up but its been very hectic believe me. Venues, mixes, covers, meetings, management and lots more. 2010 is defiantly going to be the year of the Ego believe me. Well here is another Exclusive to Ego Thieves. DJ Drama who is an Urban Nerds resident and lots more has put together this beastly mix of tracks. Very much name by nature, this mix is full of lots of Dubplate most DJs would kill for right now. From J@akes, Zero G, Doctor P, Giant [...]
The bi-monthly music and culture mag will take a bow with its final issue, which has Alicia Keys on the cover, on December 15th. Its run lasted 33 issues, according to AllHipHop.com. Founded in 20... Continue reading "Goodnight, Giant Magazine " >

Printer cartridge instructions from Asia are always a hilarious find. This came out of an ink package at work. It's hard to believe a technical writer somewhere in the world was actually paid to write this. Oh, to be a college graduate during the Internet boom of the '90s. I could have been retired by now... Instead, I'm working at a record store and compiling mix tapes for people I don't know or even care about (well, maybe ten of you I care about). How depressing. Rather than wallow in my self-pity any longer, I'll just skip ahead [...]

Remember those times when you picked up a music magazine and read a playlist of what the writers were playing in the office that week? Here is my nod to that publication staple. No great fanfare, just ten of the best song around right now I've been playing lots of. Fuck Buttons new' album Tarot Sport is out now and it's amazing. If Street Horrrsing was a lethargic rush of euphoria, Tarot Sport is a kick in the balls at a rave at 6am, Full of sounds that would be [...]

Giant is a new dubstep trio out of Russia and have been getting a lot of regular airplay from the likes of Rusko and many other huge dj's. I first noticed these guys when I heard their tune "Rocker" and now they have recently finished a bootleg remix of the old Dire Straits song "Money For Nothing". With tunes released on Dubpolice, Subway and now Hench, these young 20 year olds are really getting noticed. There's a pretty cool interview with them over here at Big Up Magazine . Dire Straits - Money For [...]

Been a horrible week of living off of robitussin, motrin, nyquil, and hot pockets. Only thing I could think of to express how I feel are the sounds of death it self. Some great tunes here, Enjoy!
