★★★★☆ Bristol's Tectonic label, the guardians of the dark arts, ancient secrets and sacred skills in dubstep and bass, set up a third upsurge of aftershocks formed by irresistible militia. After fire is opened by a tremendous opening salvo from venomous scheme team Kryptic Minds, Tunnidge and Pinch send in epically brooding Trojan horses, spearheading a collection armed with tenterhooks, tripwires, knife edges and hair triggers. While the force through restraint and meticulousness is admirable, putting the strange and beautiful into the dead of night, you're thinking it can only be a matter of time before [...]
![[unclassified]: A Compilation from Adult Swim](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3754281_lg.jpg)
Adult Swim has been a supporter of cutting edge music for a while, with tracks from artists like Flying Lotus and Clams Casino gracing their content. However, I don't think the true depth of their cultural coolness struck me until I was shown this compilation, with a tracklist that sends shivers down the spine of even the most jaded music fan. Download: Ginz - Chrome This free compilation seemingly came out of nowhere with tracks (some previously unreleased) from future garage, dubstep, and other innovative bass artists [...]
The dope mixes from overseas just keep on coming. After hearing killer blends from Ghostpoet and TightFace , we now have an 18-track mix from Multiverse label head Ginz. Some of y'all might know this U.K.-by-way-of-the-U.S. producer for his work with Joker. Together, they melted faces with a genre-defining banger called " Purple City " before beginning their progression into other sounds. Those other sounds are just what we have here on Post Purple , which features music from Ginz, Joker, and many others. Crank the bass. Hit the skip to download [...]

If glitch hop, chill dubstep, and hip hop combined to make a lovechild, How Purple Can You Go would undoubtedly be it. An incredible conglomeration of tracks, The Hood Internet has produced one truly unique mashup. Yet again we are shown just how much of a musical melting pot the world of EDM has become. Just take note of the names on this track: Joker, Ginz, and Ludacris. Umm...yeah. So just how good is it? Well, give yourself a listen-just make sure you've got plenty of room to get up and proceed to get down. Hard. [...]

Soul Jazz Records has released a truly dope compilation. The title of this nice little package is Future Bass . Rather than write a review of it, I'll leave the listening up to you. I just wanted to share with you this unique compilation of beats, foreign sounds, and overall versatile productions. You have no excuse not to listen, cuz you can stream it for FREE on XLR8R right here . Future Bass features a bunch of hot artists that specialize in genres ranging from garage, to dubstep, to other unique forms of [...]

Last week, Diplo released Blow Your Head - Diplo Presents Dupstep , a compilation of his favourite purple tracks. The mixtape attempts to condense the zombie genre into 16 must-have cuts. Is it a success? Well, sure -- the mix touches on most of the genre's staple artists and has a decent amount of classics *, what it's lacking is more : Where's Burial? Where's "Purple City"? etc. etc. etc. Regardless, it's a pretty good primer for anyone new to grimy jams and, more importantly, is a pretty great excuse [...]
O man have I got some Vitamins for you guys today. I decided to go on somewhat of a Dubstep binge because I've been feeling extra ragey and the result was a compilation of crunch, wobble, and a mixture of scary noises. I decided to include a mixture of well known dubsteppers with a couple up and comers so be sure to let me (and them) know what you guys think by commenting at the bottom: First up are a couple Vitamins right off of Diplo's new Dubstep comilation "Blow Your Head! Volume 1; Diplo presents Dubstep". I [...]

This article was written by Vikrant from Indie Bandwagon . When pioneering labels release compilation albums, they often celebrate their strength and diversity. Highlighting the swagger and possibility of both emerging and existing talents, the Multiverse/Tectonic labels present us with Dark Matter: Multiverse 2004 - 2009 . This expansive 2 disc compilation is typical of the label: an eclectic mix of intellectual music that's aggressively unafraid of the dancefloor. Disc 2 offers tracks from some of the label's newer artists [...]
So everybody's been talking about the death of Dubstep (not to mention the death of hip-hop, authenticity, and the author) and the ascendance of lighter, more party-oriented steppas' delights; you know, the funky, 2-steppy, post-garage stuff that's been ruling the dancefloors on both sides of the pond. I'd tend to agree that some of this half-time wobbly shit is getting a little old as musicians prioritize industrial synth patches and raved-out aural violence over the percussive subtlety, minimalism, and negative space that early Dubstep borrowed so well from Dub itself. I'm [...]

Build have really pulled out the stops on this one. After the first two releases, 'Tongue Riddim' (w/ Roska RMX) and 'Ride It' (w/ Untold RMX), the third Build plate comes with two unique and original riddims, attracting the support of all your favourite DJs, and a few more besides. For this third release, stylishly trimmed in a delightful red hue, they have an A side whereby Ginz (of Purple City fame) and label boss Baobinga team up to create their own crunked-up take on the Purple sound. Long time collaborators, their highly accomplished production skills and [...]

Build release the third edition to their catalogue of brilliant releases. This one is no different with innovative producers from house and dubstep coming together to produce two really interesting tracks, and both raring for the dancefloor. I've worked out how to use Soundcloud on here now so you can preview the tracks before buying them. There's an excellent minimix from Baobinga and TRG which should not be missed, unfortunately no tracklisting available however. BUILD003 - Ginz & Baobinga 'The Good Stank' [...]

Build Recordings has done it yet again with a new release featuring label boss Baobinga , Purple City's Ginz , and Romania's Cosmin TRG . Two collaborative originals, "The Good Skank" & "I Get Ruff," complete this analogue crunching, bass guzzling EP. The crunked-up release is getting tons of respect from artists such as: Drop The Lime, Untold, Hot City, Bok Bok, Sinden, Mary Ann Hobbs, and MJ Cole. Baobinga and Cosmin TRG also put together two exclusive mini mixes for the EP. You can pick both of those up on mixcloud [...]

BUILD003 is out on vinyl and digital now! And to celebrate, Baobinga and Cosmin TRG went back to back for a MiniMix battle - check it out in the mixcloud player below or download here Cosmin Trg Vs Baobinga - Minimix For Build003 by Baobinga on Mixcloud Also, if you wanna be as cool as the other big players supporting this tune like Sinden, Jackmaster, Martyn, Bok Bok and a bunch [...]

It's been a while wince I posted another Thugstep blend. Massive thanks to everyone who's been supporting them, whether it's playing them at raves, on radio, or on you iPods... It means a lot. DOWNLOAD This was originally done as a mashup for my BBC 1Xtra Guest Mix for Mistajam back in February. I figured that it worked so well, I though I'd make it into a proper blend. I've called it a quick hitter as it's only the first verse and chorus; the reason being that the [...]
![Basement Jaxx [ft. 607 & Bobby] - "Raindrops (Joker & Ginz Remix) (607 Flip)"](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2342631_lg.jpg)
Ah, the glory days...early 2009. Back then, I was posting a new 607 flip every few weeks. But after a few months of keeping our supply steady and thoroughly whetting our appetites, Lord Six split to Russia for a minute, and the flip flood came to a sad, unwelcome halt. Luckily 607 has been recording with his brother Bobby (aka Mr. Morbid) throughout this interim. He's got a new 17-track album out titled Ear Fear , and you can cop it here . He actually sent me this flip of [...]
