Knowing full well that Friday will be a late one, the festival lays on the best possible thing to do with a hangover on Saturday morning - the now habitual trip to the Blue Lagoon thermal pools. For the damaged Airwave heads there's a mellow DJ, a local band and a bar (serving a maximum of 3 beers per sore head). NOTHING you have tried is as curing as this pool combined with hair-of-the-dog. As the crowd loosen up they make their way closer to the DJ and the day becomes a water party for grown-ups; meeting and talking to [...]

Grimes is the artful work of a woman from Montreal, Canada - Claire Boucher - who's a powerful force within the dreamy synth-pop movement... and it doesn't look like she's slowing down any time soon. It's the return of Remixtape , the feature where I listen to a tremendous amount of shitty blog-bait "X Remixes Y" tracks and weed out those worth your weed-out. (Right?) Volume 6 opens with this month's undisputed champion of tracks bearing Remix in their title: the indomitable "Huzzah!" featuring a fierce set of relatively underground rappers (El-P, Despot, Danny Brown, some band Das Racist), from Tom's inaugural Mixtape Of The Week by Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire . Also involved: Remixtape vets Holy Other, Star Slinger, How To Dress Well, and also Balam Acab casting syrupy spells on '90s R&B [...]

Earlier this year, English quintet Elbow ran through a string of arena tour dates at home, performing to thousands of fans, which included a performance on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury. Yet over here in the States, they're headlining shows at venues like New York City's Terminal 5. Sort of a mindfuck. Though, similar to Muse years back, they're still working on breaking through in America. If last night's performance is any indication, they're well on their way. Before Elbow arrived to near mass hysteria, Glasser walked out [...]

Two years is far too long to go without seeing Elbow live. But when you live in America, the land of frustrating commercial radio strangled by major record labels, you make do with what you can. And I'm very pleased that for a second time in 2 years, DC music fans sold out yet another Elbow show at the 9:30, so if American record execs aren't paying attention, they should. The Manchester band made playing to a crowd and making every single person in the club feel loved. I could go [...]
For the next three weeks, FACT Magazine is allowing you to download the unbelievably awesome mix Jamie xx made for them. It's a half hour long and without a tracklist. We hear some Rihanna ("Only Girl" never sounded so hip), some Burial ( "Stolen Dog" from this year's excellent Street Halo EP) and some (possibly new?) tunes from Jamie's flagship band the xx , as well as some unidentifiable, otherworldly vibes. Yeeeeeep. Long weekend is here, well almost here and we've got the latest Boner Jams mix for you to download and shake your ass to before the Summer is over. I quite like this particular mix that we did as it's a lot more chilled out, perfect that Summer drive or bike ride if you [...]

Mr Intl The weekly froth! A weekly take on six tracks, most of which have recently popped up somewhere in the blogosphere. Bit of a mixed bag with a slight leaning towards house, disco, and remixes, but generally just anything that for some reason tickled the writer's fancy. Track of the week: 'Give it to Me' by Mr. Intl Andy Butler (aka he of Hercules and Love Affair ) and Jason Kendig dish out some late house on Butler's new label. The [...]

Yes. That is correct. We have some remixes for your listening pleasure. The first is one that was sent our way by a certain DJ called Faux Pas. I like his name. And I like this track. The original song has been one of the most popular posts of the past four months, and for good reason. This remix (by one of the band!) has turned it into a bouncing, stripped down, dancehall vibe song while keeping some of the vocal elements that we all loved so much about the original song. Here's the Faux Pas remix of Gotye's 'Somebody [...]

Después de algunos meses de descanso, la banda vasca, Delorean , regresa para mostrarnos un remix meramente hecho para el verano con un poco de sintetizadores, drum racks por doquier y la buena actitud reflejada en sus creaciones. acá la remezcla. Download Glasser Treasury Of We (Delorean Remix) Glasser Treasury Of We (Delorean Remix)

Glasser - Treasury of we (Delorean Remix) Delorean are back with this piano-house take on Glasser's track "Treasury Of We", from last year's "Ring" LP. In their own words: "After a year of intense touring, we finally got back to the studio to do one of the things we like the most: remixing. It's such a great pleasure for us to work again with Glasser, an artist that we had the luck to tour with and to personally know, and that we both respect and like" . [...]
