We don't mean to keep you from hanging on the line for that third Glassjaw album, but... you do know Daryl Palumbo's back, right? This time Palumbo's teamed up with Richard Penzone (last seen with ex-Glassjaw guitarist Todd Weinstock in Men, Women & Children ) for Color Film - yet another rebound into Palumbo's love affair with the 80s. This isn't the first time Palumbo's dabbled in synthpop, but where Head Automatica was strictly for the dancefloor, early tracks from Color Film indicate a more languid, laidback affair. [...]

United Nations played a rare show in Philly earlier this week, and I missed it. Oh well. I can say I've been spinning their Self Titled pretty much nonstop since though. A brief history: United Nations is surrounded by secrecy with most of the official members identities kept hidden due to contracts, etc. Founded by Geoff of Thursday, other rumored members involved with the project are members of Glassjaw and Converge. In addition, the band has had legal issues with the actual United Nations, and also had the majority of retailers refuse to sell their debut [...]

United Nations (featuring members of Thursday and Converge ) have added two currently unspecified members of Pianos Become the Teeth to their lineup. In addition, the band announced via Twitter that they will be playing a show on January 20th in Washington DC, with more dates on their "road to inauguration" coming soon. United Nations released their self-titled debut in 2008.

Daryl Palumbo's new side project .
Earlier this week in a statement made via Altpress , influentioal post-hardcore types Finch announced they would be reforming n order to perform the entire of their 2002 debut, What It Is To Burn , to mark the 10th anniversary of its release. They're even bloody well getting their original drummer, Alex Pappas, back on drums, and he hasn't played with them since 2004. Yep, it's safe to say, this is going to be a pretty special occasion. In their brief statement, the band said the following: [...]
Color Film , the new project from Glassjaw 's Daryl Palumbo, have released their first song, titled "Bad Saint." The song is set to appear on the band's debut full-length, Living Arrangement , due out next year.

So it appears Daryl Palumbo has got another side project going on. Palumbo, who recently teamed up with Richard Penzone of Men, Women & Children , has started booking shows under Color Film . Hear a new song featuring Nick Hook here . Given Palumbo's history of releasing music at a glacial pace, it'll be interesting to see what, if anything comes of this... Just sayin'

By Judy Tate August 3rd-6th, 2012 For me, Hevy Festival 2012 was perfectly, though unexpectedly, summarized by an elderly lady outside the Bison enclosure in the nearby animal park, which wristbands gained festival goers free entry to. The grandmother stated she had never seen so many tattoos and piercings in her life and this was pretty accurate. Perhaps if she had been aware of flesh tunnels, vans, flat caps and creepers she may have also been impressed at their abundance too. Having set the scene (in particular the subcultural 'scene') of Kent's [...]

A rip of the DVD passed out at Glassjaw's recent Coloring Book EP event, featuring the band's encore performance from last March in London in which they performed Coloring Book in it's entirety. I'm all ears (and eyes). peep the video below

This week's podcast has Tom Doyle joinging Hugh back in the Thrash Hits studio, and this week they're taking a long hard look at the line-up for Hevy Festival 2012 . As the UK's up-and-coming hardcore, punk and rock festival prepares for its fourth year, we're looking at the headliners, our top picks from lower down the bill, the unusual layout for this year's festival, as well as baselessly speculating on the potential this young festival upstart has for the future. Oh, and mouthing off about a couple of bands. Y'know - the usual. [...]
It's like NY's erection jutting out into the ocean. What's up dudes/dudettes? It's summer time, which means travel time for many of you... and me. The lack of posts last week were sponsored by me going to Long Island to go visit some friends for the weekend, and having that weekend trip turn into a week and a half... whoops (easy to do with pool parties, bonfires, and more Skyrim than you can shake a fist at). The only reason I made my friend who drove rush back today was because we had tickets [...]

In celebration of Worship and Tribute's 10 year anniversary, Glassjaw took to Irving Plaza at midnight and tore through the full album. Luckily enough a kind YT user has upped footage of the full set. Check it

Glassjaw's midnight "Worship and Tribute" album show can be viewed in its entirety by clicking read more.

With Thursday behind him for the time being, vocalist Geoff Rickley has regrouped with Daryl Palumbo ( Head Automatica , Glassjaw ), Chris Conger from The Number Twelve Looks Like You , and Kiss it Goodbye 's Eric Cooper in their project together, United Nations . The band posted the news via their official Twitter by asking who they should tour with - with Touche Amore, Deafheaven, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Envy as some suggestions. When pressed about the reason for the tour, the band explained that [...]

I just realized that Glassjaw added a 2nd "Worship and Tribute" show at Irving Plaza, starting late - at midnight, on the same day as the previously announced show . Tickets are on sale (they perform the full album at both shows). Speaking of Irving Plaza, tickets went on sale at noon for the First Aid Kit show . Tickets go on sale at noon for the one they're playing in Brooklyn. [...]
