A Quick Word from the Author: Before we begin, let's make one thing clear: There is no way anyone can be as excited as I am to have the The Indie Sabbath back -- a motion that is long overdue. It's been just over a year since I debuted the Sabbath last May to an overwhelming response from hundreds of Indie fans emerging from the wet works. Over time, the Sabbath hit some speed bumps before eventually stalling out completely. Excuses need not be made, myself and the rest of EARMILK are just thrilled [...]

If you like electronic pop, I think you're going to like the new album from Glowbug, Suit of Swords . Glowbug is the LA-based ambient/dance/rock project of Daniel Anderson (formerly, of Idiot Pilot and currently, touring member of Hyro Da Hero). Suit of Swords was released today and was written, performed, and recorded entirely by Anderson. All 14 tracks on Glowbug's second album come almost exclusively from Daniel's Sherman Oaks apartment. Highlights for me included Heatwave , Strange Inside , and Oh No! (especially Strange Inside [...]

Tweet This song hardly needs an introduction and given its faultless original state it is to Glowbug's great credit that the aura of the tune emerges unscathed. To be fair Daniel Anderson goes beyond swatting misgivings and presents the 'Surfer Rosa' anthem in an altogether different light, a warm and pleasant shade it must be said. And the Washington man isn't at all afraid to tackle other sacred cows either as his 'Covered In Lights Vol. 12 includes renditions of songs by [...]
Heycoolkid! 100 Best Songs Of 2011 - (26 - 40) . . 40. Hey Rosetta! - "Bandages" Before saying anything about this song, I fully realize that "Bandages" was not released in 2011. It was though new to me this year and the video they put out over the summer for it really impressed me. [...]
The Best Songs Of 2011 (76 - 100) Making the Best Albums list was relatively easy compared to nailing down the 100 best songs of 2011. The level of incredible music to surface this year is unbelievable. What's more difficult is trying to create some sort of order when laying these songs out, what makes [...]
If you haven't been downright impressed with the overflow of incredible genre crossing music this year you are either a huge Nickleback fan or you are Amish, there's no other logical excuse to complain about the status of music. Last year when I put the "Best Albums" list together it was one of the first [...]
I'm a sucker for a good horror movie (an even bigger sucker for a horrible horror movie), a few friends, and doing scary things like wander up to a cemetery at midnight ( esp. Stepp Cemetary) or exploring an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere. Indy even has an abandoned asylum and an abandoned [...]
There is an immense amount of music I want to share, hopefully I'll be able to get it all out in the next week. Did you ever watch that tv show where the girl could stop time by touching her fingers together? I thought it was mind blowing when I was like eight. If I [...]

Still on the mend and finding it hard to keep myself entertained all day. I'm trying my best to find some upbeat music to keep the spirits high but all I seem to want to listen to is old Cat Stevens' records. Anyway, here is what I am finding out there on the interweb. Enjoy! Free mp3: Goyte - Somebody That I Used To Know (Siavash Knew Somebody) Free mp3: Stroik - One More Time [...]

I was about to go out the door and was sorting my way through the submissions mailbox and this made me stop in my tracks, not leave, and write about it immediately. I found something I really like from a band I've featured before . It turns out today Glowbug released an EP of covers for free, called Covered In Lights Vol. 1 on Bandcamp. It is awesome. It's just four songs but what a great four songs to pick. The tracklisting is as follows: 1. Where Is My Mind (By Pixies) [...]
This is probably my strongest post in some time, I really hope you get down on these songs in the same fashion as I have been lately: Glowbug - "The Shows" [mp3] Don't take this lightly when I tell you to go over to Glowbug's Bandcamp page and download this (free) album! That way when [...]

Tweet It fully sank in how phenomenal the " Mr. Plastic " album is when it took twenty minutes of shuffling through each track before coming to a decision on which one was more deserving to be put on Listen Before You Buy, " Funeral Song " made the final cut solely from its higher rating in my itunes library. Despite the amount of effort that I put in to finding new bands and great music there is always some song, some album, that [...]
