The Child of Lov is one guy. He writes, produces and performs his music using guitars, a cheap pink bass, a keyboard, some self-made instruments, a lot of raw vocal harmonies and a big hip hop heart. He started making music secretly at age 15, and even now in his early twenties, likes to retain some privacy - which is why he's not releasing much information about himself. [...]
I like to think I can sing like Max Frost , but I just can't. I feel like "White Lies" is a song we all think we can make, but don't have the ability, skill, or ability to pull it off. Max does it beautifully, rightfully, gaining comparisons to Gnarls Barkley on the way. - Follow @THEArjunGrover
So this is how my brain works...when it shuts down I have nothing but music piping in there. I wake up with my own personal jukebox (not always great - who wants Rihanna waking you up??) playing more often than not. I have been neglecting my first love which makes this girl a little antsy and waiting for answers. So how about beats that make my blood turn cold, lyrics that make me smile, chord changes that make my eyes go wide? It's time to reboot this motherfucker...and what better than with this beat (SOOOOOOOOOO dirty...THAT'S what i'm talkin about - [...]
In This Really Happened news, when A$AP Rocky took to BBC Radio 12s Live Lounge to promote LongLiveA$AP he also broke out a cover of Gnarls Barkley's "Who's Gonna Save My Soul." He adds an impressive, snappy freestyle at the end, but most of the track sees him breaking out his best Cee-Lo impression. Check it out. A música você ouve aqui .

ASAP Rocky recently appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, where he offered up this impromptu cover of Gnarls Barkley' s "Who's Gonna Save My Soul". While he won't be winning any awards for his singing voice, ASAP presents his own sincere interpretation of the track's sorrowful vibe, sounding as flawed and human as ever before returning to his brash ways with a closing freestyle.

I'm sure video footage of this will surface soon, but for now give a listen to A$AP Rocky covering part of the Gnarls Barkley track "Who's Gonna Save My Soul". He'll be the first to tell you he can't sing for shit, but neither can Cee-Lo really so what's the difference? Luckily the Pretty Nigga busts into a freestyle that makes this listenable. I guess it's a little more difficult for rappers to select their cover tracks for BBC's program. Not a bad job, but could have been better.

The BBC Radio 1Xtra Live Lounge is well-known as the U.K. spot for artists to knock out some covers of their favorite tracks. AlunaGeorge recently performed there and took on Frank Ocean's " Thinkin' 'Bout You ", making it their own with a different tempo and vibe. The same could be said for A$AP Rocky's recent cover of Gnarls Barkley's "Who's Gonna Save My Soul?", even if it's done more in jest and therefore more humorous than anything else. You can listen below, where we've also included a clip of Rocky freestyling over some Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. [...]

A$AP Rocky hit the BBC Radio 1 Xtra Live Lounge last night, and, as is the norm, performed one of his own songs and a cover of his choosing. Rocky, rather than going down the obvious route of performing one of his favourite hip-hop tracks, decided to drop a bizarre, amusing cover of Gnarls Barkley's "Who's Gonna Save My Soul," with a little freestyle at the end. Check out the cover, and another freestyle, below. "I feel like a wino singing" - A$AP Rocky, 2013

Some of the biggest names in rock, dance and pop will descend on Chicago for Lollapalooza on August 3-5, including everyone from Frank Ocean to Florence + the Machine to Fun . But Lolla wasn't always this inclusive: It began as a the leading authority on alt-rock in the early '90s, a traveling caravan of flannel and ripped jeans that brought Seattle's grunge and Cali's trash-glam to the masses. That iteration of the touring fest folded after '97, but Lolla [...]

by Andrew Sacher Cee-Lo at Lollapalooza 2011 ( more by Grant MacAllister ) You may be annoyed that Cee-Lo is on The Voice , or that his 2010 single, "Fuck You," popped up in your life one too many times (though the album it's from is actually quite solid), but we shouldn't forget Cee-Lo's rich history. That history includes playing in the landmark southern hip hop group Goodie Mob , who played a new song [...]
Sometimes a new oddball record makes better sense with the benefit of a little context. Sometimes two hot, donged out metal dudes get all baked and embark on a journey to gather that context. Sometimes they publish the results on MetalSucks.net. Sometimes you read it lol. THE TOPIC Internal Affairs, the debut album from Soilwork/Arch Enemy [...]

During interviews and Q&As people often ask us what type of music The Recommender writes about. Our answer is always that we cover anything, so long as it's awesome. OK, so we don't cover much heavy rock, jazz, or speciality dance genres, so it is perhaps easier to list the type of music that we don't cover, but as for everything else it gets on if its good, very good. One genre that we're perhaps guilty of ignoring, although not entirely, is hip hop. If The Recommender is about trying to reward your curiosity with a selection of [...]
Listen below to the newest Goodie Mob track, "Fight To Win" . Cult-favorites, Goodie Mob is back with the group's few new material in over a decade. The group, consisting of Cee-Lo Green , Gipp , Khujo , and T-Mo , is back and better than ever, getting ready for their newest full-length "Age Against The Machine" , which is rumored to be released sometime later this year. "Fight To Win" premiered live on the hit TV show, [...]

Norah Jone's new album Little Broken Hearts has apparently leaked on the internet before its release date! Most of the time when an artist covers a song, they'll release it as a single, b-side, EP, live performance, or as a part of a compilation or covers album. On the rare occasion though, artists will include a cover in the tracklisting of one of their proper albums, which usually signifies that they've put more thought into the cover version or have given it their own unique interpretation. M. Ward is kind-of the apotheosis of this, including one or two covers on all his albums (including the just-released A Wasteland Companion ) but [...]

Photo Credit: Frank W. Ockenfels I think it's safe to say that Little Broken Hearts might be my most anticipated Norah Jones album of her entire career and I really have to thank musician, producer, 1/2 of Gnarls Barkley AND 1/2 of Broken Bells - Danger Mouse - for that. I've been a fan of Norah Jones since she released her highly acclaimed, Grammy-winning 2002 debut [...]
Soulful troubadour Bhi Bhiman puts his Cee-Lo-esque voice to good use covering Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy'

Time and good karma have a funny way of repeating themselves sometimes and coming full circle. Here and now is one of those times, as we tell you the tale of Paper Garden Records' first ever release and the Lovely Hearts Club's newest addition - former Eagle Seagull front-man, Eli Mardock . Eagle Seagull was the inspiration and jumping off point behind Paper Garden Records ' entire existence back in 2005. The town of Lincoln, Nebraska brought the two together, and from there both parties grew into their early [...]
