Liam Gallagher. You forget, between word-splurges, how tiresome he is , don't you? Gallagher told NME: "Adam and the Ants? No. Not into a geezer who wears make-up. Especially f***ing nutty ones. And tell him 'You're not the only **** who's off his t*ts.'" MIND and others have sighed, and pointed out to him that throwing words like "nutty" around about people with mental health problems is a cruel. So let's just look at the other half of his statement - that he ignores Adam Ant because he wears make-up. Apart from being the sort [...]

Silverstein will soon be releasing Short Songs , a collection of sub-90 second songs including covers and originals. The band explains the concept for the 22-song album: There will still be a ballad, a breakdown, and some singalongs, all amidst these quick songs. The idea is to give the listeners a mini-Silverstein album and take them through all of the peaks and valleys they could expect from any of our original albums The first half ("Side A") will feature eleven original songs and the second ("Side B") will include mainly punk covers [...]

Photography by Chloé Hayward Our favourite trans-genre artist (primarily hip-hop) DELS is back with a new video for his track "Capsize". continue reading >>
With a new Blink-182 album looming on the horizon, here is a look back at five pop punk bands who don't actually suck.

This is one of those singles you hear on the radio and can't then forget. MC and all round smart cookie DELS gets a helping hand from Hot Chip's Joe Goddard and Roots Manuva on this track from his first album Gob . After a typically show-stealing intro from Mr Manuva, the Rodney to DELS' Del-Boy, we get some genuinely rabble-rousing lines from DELS: Ain't nothing changed since Britain turned blue/Except more cuts more problems, masks/Looks like that we're all fucked, no lube/Cameron better stay clear of my arse/Kick down the doors of parliament for the truth/And [...]
Throughout GOB , Dels's fearlessness comes through; he doesn't soften his words or his beats with easy hooks. It would be disingenuous to call what Dels does on his debut album GOB unique. There are plenty of artists who have come up with a hip-hop formula that features smart rhymes and production styles that owe at least as much to Warp Records-style IDM as they do to so-called "classic" hip-hop. Plenty of those artists even share a record label with Dels, as Big Dada seems to have made seeking out this style a...

UK MC DELS will be dropping his new record, GOB , on May 24th. The title track has be making the rounds on the Interweb for a couple weeks, but today we're talking remix, specially remix by TV On The Radio's David Andrew Sitek. Now, we're always interested in remixes here at MOKB, but, truth be told, it's rare that a remix actually improves a song. This may be that rare exception. We're including the video clip for the original in case you want to do a side-by-side comparison, [...]
One of my personal favourites - Printer's Devil - recently remixed the already big track "GOB" by DELS. (Free Download on his bandcamp page: http://printersdevil.bandcamp. com)
Young gun Kieren Dickins (a.k.a. DELS) has been gaining a lot of cred as of late. Like Spoek Mathambo Dickins juggles two careers: graphic designer and musician. Dickins just dropped the latest single from his upcoming debut album and it's a real winner. "GOB" features production by wunderkind Kwes (The Invisible and The XX) and [...]

I wrote some words on DELS debut album recently and it got a big thumbs up. I'm not along either, fans include Dave Sitek , from TV on the Radio and Maximum Balloon amongst others, and he's just delivered a remix of the title track. Looping a sax through the first verse, then emphasising the bass through the second and third, Sitek builds on the progressive narrative of the original . In a similar vein to the Joe Goddard remix of 'Trumpalump', a killer, radio-friendly vocal is [...]

Quick...immediate names that spring to mind when the mention of Canadian musical acts come up in conversation? If you are imagining Celine Dion, Nickelback, Bryan Adams, KD Lang, Barenaked Ladies, Hedley, Wide Mouth Mason, Three Days Grace, Theory of a Deadman, Swollen Members, Sum 41, Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne or Alanis Morissette...shame on you. Although these bands and (questionable) musicians helped to shape the landscape of the Canadian Music Scene, they do little convey how talented our country truly is. I meant to put this post together after Arcade Fire pulled off their Grammy victory for [...]

British rapper DELS is dropping his debut album next month, and has just blessed us with this Dave Sitek remix of "GOB", the third single off the album (watch the video for the single here ). In case you dunknow, Dave Sitek is the TV On The Radio boss man and all round uber-producer, and I think he has turned this into a beast of a song with all sorts of great touches. DELS is, by all accounts, set for big things and the three singles he's dropped have been interesting. He's got [...]
TV On The Radio just dropped, in my mind, one of the best albums of the year so far. On the same promotional tear is DELS, whose debut LP is coming along shortly. He recently dropped his video for " GOB ", and today we get an absolutely awesome remix from David Andrew Sitek, of TV On The Radio. While I pretty much despised Sitek's solo project, Maximum Balloon, there is no doubt that his production skills are top-notch. He killed "GOB". Stream the remix or download it after the skip. [...]

Download: DELS - 'GOB (David Andew Sitek Remix) Kieren Dickins aka DELS returns with the final single before the launch of his debut album, the track from which his long player takes its name, "GOB." With music from production wunderkind Kwes (known for his own releases on Young Turks plus production work with The Invisible and The XX) the track shows Dickins, angry, battered, but ultimately hopeful, rising up through all the shit of the world determined to triumph, succumbing neither to the nonsense around him [...]
It might just be the effects of this wicked cold, but I have been listening to a ton of Brit-hop lately. The Streets and Dizzee Rascal are both on heavy repeat on my computer. Well, it appears that the good people "across the pond" are about to drop their latest member of the "British rapper" game onto us with Ipswich, England's own DELS . DELS, who is signed to London's Big Dada and will be releasing his debut album, GOB on May 24th. Needless to say, I am [...]
Kieren Dickins aka DELS returns with "GOB", the third single from his upcoming May debut album--of the same name. Production from Kwes (The Invisible, The xx) features the best of what we love about DELS, a straightforward approach to hip hop from the UK as only he can be expected to do. We're super excited [...]
Few days ago we wrote about David Sitek's remix of Dels single "GOB", you can watch the video clip out yesterday below

Hip-Hop doesn't have too many innovators these days... we see Dels as a bit of a diamond in the rough, looking to buck the trend. Read More >>
