We already knew the next step in dance music was going to be about silence and space but Golau Glau are taking things further with what sounds like heavy breathing - maybe even snoring - punctuating 'Maxillo.' It's kind of fitting as the track shuffles along drowsily, sleepwalking its way through several phases of mystical glimmers of light and extraneous sound effects. It's like a weird dream that you can only remember half of when you wake up but the willfully anonymous bunch that make up Golau Glau are reluctant to remind us of the rest. [...]

This weeks round up of the tracks that I haven't had the space to post is an electronica special... Pop Smear From: New York, United States How could the Devil's blog resist a song called Lucifer especially one that sounds like it's been locked in Neil Tennant's basement until the world was ready for it. Go [...]
Photography: Anna & Marek I guess I'm a year older. Anyhow, I wanted to keep Golau Glau for Sunday, but I apparently can't cause it's just too good. Golau Glau - Tiny Satellites Golau Glau - Virtual Boy Clock Opera - White Noise (Golau Glau Remix)

Oh 2010, what a rollercoaster of a year you've been... I think that this has been the most awesome year out of my life so far. I've had lots of ups and I've had lots of downs. I met some of the most amazing people this year and I'm pretty sure I am gonna be meeting even more in the coming year. First: music. I won't give you my top 10 of albums in 2010, instead I will give you a list of the 15 albums/ep's I've enjoyed the most [...]

Golau Glau play 'silverpop'. They made a Christmas EP, that sounds like walking through a Winter Wonderland, very early in the morning. Download it for free here. Golau Glau - Oak Moon

Last August I managed to fall in the middle of the street, after which I got some sort of seizure (not as bad as it sounds) and fainted for a couple of seconds during which I managed to fall face down into my glass and started to convulse. In the end it wasn't anything bad, just low blood pressure after my fall but it resulted in me throwing up for the rest of the afternoon. Fun times! Not so much. Then the days after I gradually got stressed out more and more cause I still had lots to [...]
Music video for "Marching Son" by Esben and the Witch from the group's

mpfree : Esben and the Witch - Marching Song ( Golau Glau remix) One of the country's most promising acts gets remixed by another of the country's most promising acts. 'Marching Song', a real eye-opener on Esben and the Witch's '33' EP, has been morphed into something with more ambiguity and haunts. [thanks to Xpldr ] Esben and the Witch - Marching Song (Golau Glau Remix) by [...]

MYSTERY JETS - DREAMING OF ANOTHER WORLD (WOODEN SHJIPS REMIX) Wooden Shjips must live on another planet to the rest of us - there's not another band about that would approach a remix with such a brazenly brilliant outlook - namely, to apply their signature technique of psychedelic solos and bludgeoning 'Dreaming of Another World' into their own work. In fact, it might as well have been the case that Shjips used this as a song of their own - but it's bloody brilliant either way. [...]

worriedaboutsatan From: Leeds, United Kingdom Recently, worriedaboutsatan (first mentioned on the Devil's blog back in April last year, Losing My Religion ) released 'Arrivals Remixed' , a two disc remix album, featuring re-workings of tracks off last years Arrivals album, by the likes of Her Name is Calla , Golau Glau (also previously featured on the Devil's blog, Ooooh They're Floaty [...]

Alright then, second attempt. I HAD JUST PRETTY MUCH FINISHED THIS when my hand decided it was no good and pressed the wrong key and erased it all. My head switched to panic mode and I changed page not realising there was an undo button. Yes, I am a retard when it comes to computers/technology. You can stop making fun of me now. In this post I would like to discuss people I might or might not have shortly mentioned before that are - in my opinion - very talented and on top of that super lovely too. [...]

Purveyors of holographic silverpop, Golau Glau have released an original Christmas single for our listening pleasure. Never ones to be ordinary, Golau Glau made sure to bring the cavalry on "Foolstide". Banging beats permeate throughout light-as-air vocals telling the tale of a time when the Puritans outlawed Christmas for thirteen years in the 17th Century. "Foolstide" is backed with the heart-pumping "A Tragic Error", which might just triumph over the single's titular track. The first thing you will notice when "A Tragic Error" comes on are the ear-splitting "15 Steps"-esque warped drum line. At this [...]

We've made no secret of our love for Crystal Fighters and their basque-influenced electro delights here at Walrus Towers, but they have outdone themselves with their latest "I Love London". Kitsune ( MySpace ) decided to put this on their Kitsune Maison 8 compilation (which incidentally I think is their best in a little while), but have now released it as a single and wow what a single it is - and yes I was unbelievably upset I couldn't go to the launch party (stupid degree pfft!). This was released a week [...]

Here in ANBAD Towers, we like to pretend that we're hugely altruistic, adopting a generous approach to all and sundry. It's all lies, of course, but the truth - that our wizened hearts are filled with hate and jealousy - is not so appealing to the wider public. So in a fit of overzealous giving, here's the first of many lovely musical gifts from US to YOU, which we'll be scattering over you like a keen groom decorating a four-poster with clammy rose petals. And what a treat we have today from mysterious anonymous collective [...]
"Golau Glau are an anonymous group of people who collectively create silverpop" This, plus a bunch of songs, is all the information readily available about the mysterious outfit. This deliberately sought anonymity forces listeners (and lazy reviewers) to confront the music and form an independent opinion but it does help that the tracks are extremely enjoyable [...]
