A new genre we've been talking about a lot - and that we expect will (hopefully) soon take over the world - is electro-swing, the combination between electro and 20s-style swing. Here's a playlist of five key sounds to emerge from the electro-swing music genre so far, from its roots with Mr. Scruff and Jurassic 5 to its current stars in Parov Stelar. 1. Original post: Genre Introduction: Electro-Swing 2. Posted in: jazz , Curated Playlists , electro , [...]

Originarios [...]

This week 2fer One is a spotlight on two unique progressive house tracks. The first track is from Goodwill & Hook N Sling and their track ' Take You Higher'. Electronic Dance Music producers have remixed songs from a wide variety of genres, from Pop, Hip Hop, Rock, and Alternative. But Goodwill & Hook N Sling has gone where no one has gone before and remixed a Folks and [...]
I'm going to start off by apologizing for the misleading title. This post has very little/nothing to do with the whimsical rhymes of Dr. Suess. But good news is, I've got just the remedy to eradicate your disappointment, some new songs for you all the way from South Africa. Goldfish has had its fair share of fame in the US… as background music in a handful of commercials, so chances are you've heard them a bit. Here I've got a couple fresh remixes, one with Fedde Le Grand, the other with Danny Dove. Both songs stay true to Goldfish's jazzy [...]
Thousands of you have been begging for the identity of that track from Fedde le Grand's recent Takeover Tour videos on FLG TV ( http://youtu.be/UeTF9gwJRfA )Well the raging debate can finally come to a stop as we exclusively reveal it to be Fedde's massive remix of Soundtracks & Comebacks by hot young South African duo and Blue Marlin residents Goldfish. Their show-stopping style – featuring

Welcome to THE CLUB . A weekly dose of your favourite house, progressive house, electro house, and everything-in-between. . Afrojack drops by alongside Steve Aoki , Calvin Harris gets a Benny Benassi rework [...]

Suicide Sundaes – stop your grinnin' and drop your linen. Every Sunday electblake of Earmilk will bring you the weeks dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn't care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. To hell with sketchy Sunday, we want to shove another dragon down the hole. Why the delay? Well, I've been thinking. Lately I've been reconsidering the entire feature and it's purpose here. To be frank, originally [...]
Sorry for the 4 day delay in posts Jammers - but holy fuck are you lucky today with this massive FSP. I'm still unaware of BlairBeats' excuse for withholding his weekly dubstep fire but I can assure you that FSP #36 has you covered. I've thrown in a whole bunch of shit from the newest [...]
Fedde Le Grand creates a playful remix of Goldfish's "Soundtracks & Comebacks". We are big fans of the saxophones in the beginning which lead into a thumping bassline that meshes incredibly well with the chorus. This is the perfect tune for stirring up some ruckus in a festival type situation. It is hard to compare anything to Nicky Romero's "Flash" , but we think it has an eerily similar appeal - sing a long vocals, playful catchy tune, and an uplifting sound. Listen to this one and tell us what you think! Purchase: Beatport [...]

I'm back up in LA after a brief visit back home in Newport Beach. I'm sure you're all giddy for some goodies on this lovely Monday, so I'm doing my best to deliver. I figured it would only be a matter of time till there were remixes of Goldfish, but it surprised me to come across Fedde's new mix today. GRiZ's "Rock N Roll" is a pretty groovin', hip-hop influenced track that I could definitely see released on Pretty Lights Music. Get your tech-house on with the body movin' Bass Kleph remix. Last but not least, Gladkill's remix of Ill-Esha's [...]

Here it is! If you all have been paying attention and tuning into FLG TV the new remix 'Soundtracks and Comebacks' by the fantastic South Africans, Goldfish is finally here. In Fedde's Takeover Tour, he is shown hauling around his laptop and working on the production of this remix all over the world. 'Soundtracks and Comebacks,' a song from a few years ago; 2008 to be exact, was the perfect track to bring back for a Fedde remix at Flamingo Recordings . The track has a funky lead that will be sure to get stuck [...]

Hi there. Few days ago I found this on reddit, at first I believed it was simply a random video using retro visuals. But it actually was the newest video of Goldfish , two guys from South Africa, their style is between regular Electronica, Nu Jazz and Downtempo, using a lot of sax, trumpets, oldschool drums and of course, piano. The thing that I enjoy the most, is that they also include a bit of "traditional african [...]
