Phish frontman Trey Anastasio is set to release his eighth studio album Traveler next week, and has included a rather bizarre-but-inspired cover on the solo record. Taking on Gorillaz' debut single 'Clint Eastwood', Anastasio does an excellent Damon Albarn impression, while Jennifer Hartswick sounds great singing the verses. I'm very impressed, I must admit. Trey Anastasio ( Phish 's frontman) isn't one to stay in his lane, at least when it comes to covers. He's done everything from Velvet Underground to Will Smith to The Beatles, and for his upcoming Traveler album, out October 16th, he's chosen to put his own spin on "Clint Eastwood." He gives it a slightly jazzy, more organic touch with the help of vocals from Jennifer Hartswick, and while Phish covering old Gorillaz isn't the most exciting thing in the world, it sounds surprisingly good.
