A song that up until recently I had only heard live versions of. Well it turns out that Gov't Mule did in fact record this song in the studio. The only info I have on it is "Bootleg, + quality, outtakes from the debut release, recorded at the TeleStar Studios". Gov't Mule - Just Got Paid

Episode 83a , 83a and 83c in the podcasts section Live Jambands in Holland cover the full Gov't Mule show in Amsterdam, July 12 2007. Edited out crowd noise at the start of the show and between the end of second set and the encore. OK first up - right now as I type this up, I'm rocking out to a great DVD posted on The Traders Den - Gov't Mule 2007-06-10 Cologne, Germany (DVD9) (PAL) . DVD9 means that you'll need a DVD burner that supports dual-layer, and a dual-layer disc to burn it on. The download is a whopping 6.57 GB, and worth every byte of it. There are still lots of seeders, myself included, so it's not too late to grab it for yourself. Next. The Gov't Mule Bonnaroo 2007 performance that was pulled from MuleTracks, has [...]
Was there really any question that Bonnaroo would be the topic for this weeks Mule Monday? The only difficult part of this post was picking the songs to include. The guests were great (and plentiful), the setlist was sick, and there are a couple of recordings to choose from (see my very frequently updated list of Bonnaroo lossless-only downloads ). Since I only have a few more min to get this up on Monday (hey it's still Monday here on the west coast) - here goes - Gov't Mule w/ John Paul Jones - [...]

One single screenshot/image can sum up how I spent the past weekend: I don't even want to try and figure out how many hours I spent sitting in front of my laptop, dreaming of being @ Mountain Jam. But I will say this (and repeat it a few times) - the webcast was absolutely genius. More on that later... Gov't Mule - Night I Where to begin. How about with the opener - Radiohead's "Creep". What a way to start the show.. Next up was a retardedly [...]
This is without question one of my top 10 all-time favorite songs. Warren Haynes - It Hurts Me Too (Bowery Ballroom, NYC - 6/7/04) Susan Tedeschi - It Hurts Me Too Eric Clapton - It Hurts Me Too (live, unknown date) Tampa Red - It Hurts Me Too Gov't Mule - It Hurts Me Too (Santa Barbara Bowl 08/22/99) Modern Blues Band - It Hurts Me Too

One of my die-hard Mule-fan friends (hi Leigh!) had been waiting for ages to hear Gov't Mule cover "Hallelujah". She even has a few setlists where it was listed as an encore, but never played. Well, she finally got her wish in Denver @ The Fillmore Auditorium on 4/26/07. For those of you who couldn't attend and share my jealousy, here it is - Gov't Mule - Hallelujah (Warren and Danny only) | source

This week I've decided to post some 'older' Gov't Mule tracks, from way back in '96. The location was the Georgia Theater, in Athens, GA. It's also worth noting that these were created from a soundboard source , rather than an audience rig (mule tapers rule!). If you like what you hear, I'd strongly suggest grabbing the lossless version on etree while it's still being seeded. One last thing - Derek Trucks sits in for Gonna Send You Back To Georgia - and he was only sixteen years old at the time. [...]

Simple Man was the encore @ the 4/20/07 show in Mobile, AL ( source ) and Hunger Strike > Dear Mr. Fantasy > Hunger Strike is from the 02/09/07 show in Morrison, CO (@Red Rocks, source ). I had the great pleasure of attending the @Red Rocks show, and really wish I had attended the Mobile, AL show, but you can't win them all can you? [...]

Yeah I know it's Wednesday. I just don't care. This weeks track comes from the recent 4/20 show in Mobile, AL. The setlist was just ridiculous, and the taper (jkbyram) did such a fantastic job that I actually took the time to learn how to combine .wav files so I could present the following songs as one track. Enjoy. Gov't Mule - I Think You Know What I Mean > When The Levee Breaks > ITYKWIM source | [...]

Silly note about video: YouTube allows videos that are 100MB in size, and up to 10:00 minutes in length. After 14 (fourteen!) tries, I managed to capture this video from DVD as a 99.5MB, 9:59 video. Gov't Mule performs I Shall Return > Nasty Dogs & Funky Kings @ Stubb's Barbeque in Austin, TX on 05/08/99 And to take w/ you on your portal music player (borrowed from nugs.net ) - [...]

In honor of Mr. James Brown, todays Mule Monday will feature Gov't Mule covering Down and Out In New York city. RIP James. Gov't Mule - Down and Out In NYC

I'm preparing for a move (and vacation, though they're very separate events) - so please don't get mad that I'm combining posts (this will serve as this weeks Mule Monday and it's 4:20 ). Gov't Mule - Don't Step On The Grass, Sam Related: NORML Gov't Mule No extradition for the BC3 The Other War We Can't Win

Gov't Mule is a live band and a really good one. Studio albums is always a challenge for artists that shine on stage. The Mule lost their long time bass player Allen Woody in 2000 and it has been a long way to find their bearings after that tragedy. Guitar player Warren Haynes and drummer Matt Abts spend a long time looking for a replacement, with tons of guest players filling in. Andy Hess got he job and Danny Louis joined on keys, making turning the trio into a [...]
