Grace Potter & the Nocturnals are nearing completion of their fourth studio album for Hollywood Records, which will bear the title The Lion The Beast The Beat . The envelope-pushing new LP plays with reoccurring themes and big ideas. "I think there's a Lion and a Beast within all of us - as humans. There's also true goodness, and the appearance of goodness…" says Grace. "Maybe I've watched too much Mad Men, but I'm in love with the idea of ...

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Video , Exclusive Douglas Mason/Getty Images The past year has been pretty good for blonde bombshell rocker Grace Potter . After recently winning a CMA Award, the singer was nominated for two Grammys for her duet 'You, Me and Tequila' with cowboy country act Kenny Chesney . And things just keep looking up from there. Known for her leggy performances, shred-worthy [...]

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals - Apologies "My love is like a blanket That gets a little bit too warm sometimes I wanna wrap somebody in it Who can hold me in his arms Cause when it got a little too hot in there He was always stepping out for air and he froze Oh he froze" I usually try to just choose a few lines, but I liked this whole verse. Another pandora find here. Has a little bit of that twangy feel to it, but not [...]

When we last checked in with Nada Surf , the indie-pop band had released If I Had a Hi-Fi , a collection of covers, that featured takes on tunes from a wide swath of artists that included Spoon, Depeche Mode, Kate Bush and The Moody Blues. As a follow-up, the Brooklyn-based trio return with their first album of original material in four years on January 24 when they release The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy. The group will play a hometown album release show that very same night at the Bowery Ballroom. Nada Surf will then hit [...]

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals are in the initial stages of work on their new album and recently spent time in a Los Angeles studio. "I'm really excited about how things are progressing," says Grace of the percolating creative process that's fueling the project. "We're all chomping at the bit to make a KILLER record." GPN have also been handpicked to be part of a stadium tour next summer with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw , and that massive exposure...
An unlikely array of artists salute Tres Hombres from Texas.
ZZ Top classics covered by all star performers.

Who was the striking blonde accompanying Kenny Chesney? Considering he has 20 number one county chart hits and is Renee Zellweger's ex-husband, Kenny Chesney has soaked in his fair share of the limelight. But the stunning blonde who made the red carpet stroll with him on Saturday night is a comparative unknown. Those striking facial features (and legs) belong to Grace Potter, lead singer of a roots rock band called Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Potter later joined Chesney onstage to sing "You and Tequila," and if she seemed extremely comfortable during the duet, that's because [...]

photos by Chris La Putt Grace Potter sat in the grass with her guitar Wednesday, outside her home in Waitsfield, and wrote a new song. Its called "The Mad Mad River." For years, Potter had resisted the temptation to write about Vermont, she said. "I thought it was kind of cheesy," Potter said. But in the sunshine Wednesday, a hint of fall in the air a beautiful moment three days after coming home from the road to [...]
I know you didn't ask for my opinion, but I'll give it to you anyway. These are the shows you should catch this week in Toronto. Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Opera House, Sep 29 In my opinion Grace Potter is probably the best bluesy and soulful female singer since Janis Joplin. Lofty praise I know, but truly believe it. Ohbijou w. Julie Doiron, Sep 30 With a stunningly beautiful new album

Braving a ton of rain and less-than-ideal lightning conditions at the venue, our friend Derek McCabe went and shot the Grace Potter & the Nocturnals show last night at Electric Factory in Philly. His reputation proceeded him enough to let the tour manager convince him to shoot the entire show, thus bringing back a seriously stellar set of Potter and all of her band mates rocking through an excellent show. These photos show what she's capable of, that's for sure... Read on for his full photoset. [...]

The b3sci family traveled this past weekend to suburban Baltimore to check out the Virgin Mobile Freefest. Here's a little "photojournal" on our experience! Favs Alberta Cross kicked shit off with a serviceable set of Anglo-American rock. The handsome half of Bombay Bicycle Club sat down with us for a post-set interview. In between some weird Drake-lite ballad non-jams Big Sean otherwise wrecked [...]
Oh, for a few more days of being under the influence and along-side the influencers. This weekend, I made my way to the greater Baltimore area for what was predicted to be a very rainy, muddy Virgin Mobile Free Fest. Upon arriving at the airport, though, my driver (Yakov!!! I love you!!) pointed out that: [...]
