![Blur Finally Puts An End To All Those Reunion Rumors [Reunions]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1396845_lg.jpg)
This week's NME leads with the revelation that Blur is planning to reunite, news that's been speculated over ever since, well, the . So far Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James, and Dave Rowntree are only lined up to play one gig—next July in London's Hyde Park—but already rumors that a Glastonbury appearance is in the cards are thick as well. "It just felt it was right again," Albarn told the NME . "It somehow feels like there's something for us to do again, we're not completely useless or pointless, we've got a reason to exist." [...]

so damon albarn claims blur rehearsals are in the works, with rumors of estranged guitarist graham coxon being a part of it. i don't know what to believe anymore, but i've always felt blur were rather empty without coxon, as much as i enjoyed the new direction of think tank . their 1997 eponymous album was probably when most of us first heard a blur song entirely penned and performed by coxon - "you're so great", an introverted character placed right in the middle of the album, sandwiched meekly between the majestically atmospheric "theme from [...]

It shouldn't really come as a surprise that Pete Doherty and Graham Coxon are working together. The moody exiles of two of Britain's most beloved rock bands have both engaged Stephen Street to produce their solo records, and they both have a penchant for some pretty freeform musical explorations. In other words, it just makes sense. After the (frankly, Beatlesesque) video above dropped a month ago, folks started officially "wondering" about the potential for collaboration. Well now Babyshambles' drummer Adam Ficek has all but [...]
The most interesting aspect of the latest in the never-ending waves of 'ooh, maybe Blur will reunite' ponderings is the way Albarn is starting to tweak history : "The truth be known, Graham and I have been hanging out together a bit. We had lunch the other day," Albarn told BBC Radio 1 on Wednesday. "It's very possible I'll go back to Blur, it really is very possible ... it's fantastic to get my old friend back." It's subtle, but there's just a hint that he'd like us to forget that it was Coxon who [...]

What's this about the Damon Albarn discussing the prospects of a Blur reunion? Between the Monkey shenanigans and forthcoming Gorillaz release , it seems almost unfathomable to think the British musician is considering taking on another high-profile project. But in a recent interview with the BBC , the former Blur frontman hinted at just that - a reunion of his main outfit. After recently having lunch with former bandmate Graham Coxon, Albarn now believes a reunion of Blur could "be in the cards." While previous get-togethers among members of [...]

Babyshambles ' frontman Pete Doherty has entered the studio with Blur guitarists Graham Coxon to collaborate on the frontman's forthcoming new solo album. The collaboration was pretty much confirmed by Babyshambles ' drummer Adam Ficek who told XFM that although he was not allowed to give any details about the forthcoming album, he can say that Doherty is working on the album with a guitarist whose name rhymes with "Layham Hoxon". Babyshambles [...]

i was talking to b today when she asked what got me started on music, and there could only be one answer to that - blur . the expanding, bloating and later self-imploding brit-pop scene was what i was immersed in at that time, rooted in a culture that was anything but my own. in 1992, "popscene" was all prepped to be blur's first single in a year and due to usher in their modern life is rubbish album, but in a case of bad timing and even more atrocious press, it failed so miserably that the [...]

Because... The Geek has been sent to Australia by his company. His flight is covered, he's staying in a swanky hotel, and he gets to go to a Polyphonic Spree gig. Yeah, he's in absolute agony. He should spend his daily allowance on a noose, the unlucky dork. The miserable bastard. Graham Coxon - Bittersweet Bundle of Misery (from Happiness In Magazines ) Blurboy confesses to enjoying kindy fights and stolen snogs. Too bad Damon never swung that way. Blonde Redhead - [...]

I don't know if I'm going to be watching the Grammy's today. But I really want to see how the performance by Amy Winehouse is going to turn out. Maybe it'll be bad and it could be like Britney Spears or it could be good. Anyway enjoy the songs. Listening to an acoustic session that Graham Coxon did for KEXP I found his acoustic version is much better then that of the one on Happiness in Magazines. Listen to it for yourself. Graham Coxon - All Over Me (Acoustic) [zshare]
I don't really have time to be updating the blog today, I have a test to study for and haven't come across something I wanted to write about so I just thought I would post some covers by Graham Coxon. Rumor has it that former BLUR guitarist GRAHAM COXON will be re-joining DAMON ALBARN & Co. to record a new album in the not-too-distant future. Today, though, we take a look (and listen) at (to) the man's solo output over the years. Personally, I find his early stuff all-but-unlistenable, so we'll just skip ahead to the better (IMO), more mature (also IMO) material of recent years.... GRAHAM COXON on MySPACE . [...]

Yours truly did a little bit more talking about music than usual this week. I appeared yesterday on Break Thru Radio - a question and answer piece on the Bloggeratti program with talented host - DJ RachelAndTheCity. The piece is intended, I suppose, to meet traveled music bloggers from all over the country. We did the briefest of profiles, talked about the blog and then I got to spin some records. Pretty cool.
