We've been getting updates on the new CLUTCH album so often as of late, for some reason we forgot to mention them all to you. Here's an attempt to get everything in at once. The band will release a DVD and CD on August 12th. They are the audio and video recordings of 4 live shows around the end of 2007/early 2008. The releases called Full Fathom Five , have slightly different tracklistings and will only be available on tour dates and from Merch.com PRE-ORDER: Clutch [...]

MP3: Thin Line Man, Sweden seems like a happening place these days (or, you know, from my distorted American perspective, it's been cool for the last decade or so). I wonder how the live shows are over there, as that would be quite the road trip. Anyway, the swelling American rock 'n roll depot that is Tee Pee Records (Brian Jonestown Massacre, High On Fire, Teeth Of The Hydra) recently issued the self-titled debut from Gothensburg's Graveyard . This quartet claims old-school influences like Cream and Black Sabbath, [...]
by crustcake gerf (NYC) Holy shit, Iron Maiden and Van Halen this week. I'm going to miss both shows, so I'm looking forward to reports from the field. Monday, 90s experimentalists Today is the Day will be hitting Knitting Factory with Mouth of the Architect , Complete Failure , and Psyopus . I haven't followed Psyopus since 2004's Ideas of Reference , and I have a short attention span for that spazzed out shit, but you really need to hear this [...]
by Black Bubblegum DOWNLOAD: Graveyard - Thin Line from their self-titled LP (mp3) Witch J.Mascis's other other band, the doom-inspired Witch , will do a short stint of dates this month, opening their tour at the aforementioned Tee Pee Records showcase on March 12 and concluding on March 20, two days after the release of their killer record Paralyzed . Check them [...]
Gothenburg, Sweden may be best known for the signature melodic death metal of bands like At The Gates and In Flames , but today there's another sound coming out of the Scandinavian town. Like their brethren Witchcraft , who hail from just up the road in Orebro, Graveyard are out to summon the gods of 70's psychedelia and proto-metal. Graveyard's eponymous debut (out next Tuesday, 2/19 via Tee Pee Records ) is a fantastic first outing and has been in steady rotation around here lately. Graveyard are playing a [...]

Graveyard owe a considerable nod to the ghosts of Classic Rock's past but as with many of their Swedish brethren, they've found a way to not only replicate the furiously muscular throb of the 70's blues explosion but to also impart it with the scattered ashes of folk and pscyhedelia that made the best examples of this period iconic. With a powerful vocal strain that burn with requisite tension and echoes of Blue Cheer and Flower Traveling Band fueling the constant rhythmic undercurrent, the band reign like a lost transmission picked up by odd atmospheric rifts in time. Graveyard slot [...]

Frá Gautaborg í Ikealandi kemur sveitin Graveyard . Fyrst hélt ég að hér væri á ferð enn ein blackmetalsveitin en mér til ánægjulegrar undrunar er hér á ferð sækadelísk síðhippasveit sem spilar lufsulegt svitarokk af bestu gerð. Það er óneitanlega smá Brain Police stemmning í gangi hjá þessum frændum vorum en þó með hæfilega miklum tilvitnunum í fortíðina til að forðast algeran samanburð. Samnefnd plata sveitarinnar kemur út þann 19 febrúar næstkomandi. Séu menn að fíla þetta má líka benda áhugasömum á Black Mountain sem ég vísaði í hér ekki fyrir löngu. [MP3] [...]
Steppin' out of the woods of Gothenburg, Sweden and right into your head is Graveyard . The quartet features Rikard Edlund (bass), Axel Sjöberg (Drums), Joakim Nilsson (Guitar/Vocals), and Jonathan Ramm (Guitar/Vocals). When recording of the album was complete ex-member Truls Mörck quit and was replaced immediately by Ramm. Upon their initial formation Graveyard quickly recorded a two track demo, which would serve as a preview of what was to come. After playing only three gigs and recouping from three severe injuries, Graveyard managed to find themselves recording an album for the venerable Tee Pee Records. [...]

Do the four wooly gents above look like gravediggers (or alternately, Gravediggaz )? I would say not. Do they look the kind of dudes who would post-up after hours in a graveyard pounding Schlitz's (or the Swedish equivalents) and making blood oaths? Getting warmer...and just maybe that's how this four-piece from Gothenburg, Sweden got such an austere name. Maybe. But it's a bit more likely they decided to call themselves Graveyard to reflect the dark and menacing vibe of their music. And as someone who tends to avoid bands and music described as "dark [...]

Do you want to hear something brutal? Check out the second verse of Graveyard's "Evil Ways" where guitarist/vocalist Joakin Nilsson sings of selling his soul for a pack of smokes. Note, he didn't sell his soul for a hit single, money, or fame, just a pack of smokes. He didn't even specify what kind of smokes he wanted from the devil. I've seen how these deals work, and I'm willing to bet that they weren't even name brand smokes. Can you imagine selling your soul for a pack of basic ultra lights? Man, that's brutal. When Sweden's Graveyard [...]

Graveyard reminds me of Soundgarden, Black Sabbath & and dudes with long hair who always wear jean jackets. You might wanna get into the Angry Jesus style. Check out their song "Thin Line" from their record that's coming out Febuary...
