Went to the Silver Doom Room for Pop Montreal's NXNE showcase. I only caught the first band that played. It was AroarA . I heard some good things about this act because one of the members is Andrew Whiteman of Broken Social Scene. I almost got starstruck just because!! The female singer is Ariel Engle who is part of AroarA. They played a really great indie experimental and atmospheric rock music. Really enjoyed their set a lot! [...]

Started off my Fridays (June 14th) during NXNE 2013 at Urban Outfitters . This year's free show took place on 481 Queen St West (Not the one on Yonge St) and on a Friday not a Saturday. Kind of took a break from the Arbutus Record's showcase at The Comfort Zone . So I was curious about the three night show that Mikal Cronin had at the Silver Dollar Room. Young Galaxy 's fourth album dropped on April 23, 2013. I've been a fan of their music since they released Invisible Republic back in 2009. It wasn't until 2011 they released Shapeshifting when they changed a direction in their music. Still going through with the electronic and synthpop route.
