![First You Get The Sugar [Album Review]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3414560_lg.jpg)
It's took me awhile to get this review up. But got a chance to listen to the self-titled album from First You get The Sugar . For those that don't know who they are, here is a blurb: First You Get The Sugar is a fresh new rock group from Montreal. They are a four-piece, like Talking Heads and The Beatles. They are all male, like the Kennedy Administration. Their music is a blend of bruising riff rock, pulsating dance rhythms, and oven-baked pop goodness. Their sound is [...]

Still with the Prairie Scene in Ottawa on April 30, 2011. This time it was Wide Mouth Mason headlining at Mavericks. I didn't catch their set but from what I was told, they are great live. I was there for the openers which were: The Sheepdogs The Stanfields Before the [...]

After being at this show on April 29, 2011. I headed off to Mavericks for the Prairie Scene . Excited to see Library Voices live! The band sure bought the fun into the Prairie Scene with their blend of alterna-pop Haven't seen them since last year where I was at NXNE. I didn't get to see Northcote but people told me that the band was great. Surprised to see Mavericks full of people! [...]

With added double A-side tracks from F**ked Up, The Luyas and Adele. Check out this week's Top 10. Edit This Week Last Week Total Weeks Artist Songs [...]

Halifax's Long Long Long seem to be releasing new materials like candy. Wanting them to very well in 2011. I was going to do a short review on this (A long title if you say it one breath!) EP called album name A Girl Drinking Orange Juice Feels Acids On The Sides Of Her Tongue. She Also Smells Citric Aromas And Feels The Wetness And Cold . Which is one or two songs. Don't forget the band will be playing a show on April 25th at Mavericks. [ Facebook event [...]

The National are on a high this year releasing songs for various soundtracks. First they release a song called Think You Can Wait from the soundtrack to Win Win . Now the band just released a single for a videogame called Portal 2 . I will say this, it is kind of weird for a band like The National will contribute a song for a videogame. Since videogames and The National don't really match really well. I am not into videogames but it is giving them a [...]
![Greys – Ultra Sorta [EP Review]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3384042_lg.jpg)
Finally got around in checking out this EP. Since the EP won't drop until April 26th Got to see Toronto's Greys play at a "day" show on April 2nd at the Rainbow Bistro. They are a four-piece with two ex-members of Arietta. Listening to the whole five tracks, the music is very indie loud rock. From their Facebook site, it says "Indie Screamo Hip-Hop Electro". For those that like the loud rocking music, you should check out Greys. Best tracks: Situationism City Of [...]

It was a busy Friday night in Ottawa. There was a ton of shows happening and I decided to hit up this show at Raw Sugar Cafe . It was the debut show for Ottawa's Silkken Laumann . No it's not the Canadian Olympic athlete. It's a band consist of Rolf Klausener (Yes from the Acorn ), Adam Saikaley and Pat Johnson. ![Ruby Coast – Made To Change [Music Video]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3365387_lg.jpg)
Check out the new music video for Ruby Coast 's Made To Change . You don't see the band in this one. Music video directed by Humble Empire . All I have to say is skating, ducks and swans. It's a "quacky" video. Made To Change is taken off from the album Whatever This Is which you can download for free on their Bandcamp site .

For those who missed out this show at Cafe Dekcuf on April 13, 2011. It was a fun dance party for a Wednesday night in Ottawa. Playing at the show were: Gobble Gobble Rich Aucoin The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! [...]
