But seriously I ♥ Joakim Joakim is a French DJ touring Australia for the second time this year celebrating his label, Tiger Sushi's 10th anniversary. That tour makes it little ol' way down to Barsoma this Saturday night, so it you don't mind missing Riverfire (HAHAHAHA!), then maybe you'd consider it. [...]

France's own Mr. Joakim Bouaziz , the king of the Tigersushi label (which is celebrating its 10th anniversary) is no stranger to the Waves at Night world. You may not have known we interviewed back in 2008 when he was just about to embark on his Australian tour. And now we are ready to do it all over again... New Gurnica and us (the blog of course) are proud to present you the Melbourne leg of the tour, taking place this Friday the 3rd [...]

Let's just get back to good tunes. Old or new. Breakbot - Penelope Pitstop ( old + inspired by OCD Automatic ) Chromeo - Night by Night (Siriusmo Remix) (I saw Chromeo this weekend. Incredibly fun show) Delphic - This Momentary (Radioproof Remix) (sounds like a tight video game, kind of) Dmitry Fyodorov - Coconut Office (dark, minimal, tech-house. Beautiful) Feist - Sea Lion (Chromeo Remix) ( old + inspired by Kid Color ) [...]

Aparece grande y claro: Son DFA . [...]

Round these 'ere parts we love a bit of Dolly Parton . There is in fact nothing we like more than knotting a pinny to our torsos and skipping through the house doing chores, cleaning, vacuuming, watering flowers, um, filing away mp3s in the correct folders. We do this whirlwind of housewifery to the dulcet tones of balloon-breasted betty, miss Parton. When we are cruising through the city at nite its not Jan Hammer instrumentals or darkwave brittle-synth barrages from Germany '82 on the Delorian cassette deck, its 'Nine to Five' that plays proud out [...]

By far the most exciting music related news I have heard in my brief hiatus from Blogland is that DFA Records have signed up Maurice Fulton's Syclops project and are releasing a whole album of Syclops madness. While I'm a bit sad that Tirk aren't putting the LP out (Slutty Fringe loves Tirk) the virtue of being released on DFA will undoubtedly giveit alot more exosure. A 123 called Where's Jason K is slated for release in November with [...]
