Why visit a festival? Simple. Live music outdoors. It's practically impossible to beat unless you're also being offered free narcotics and alcohol. In addition to a great line up of acts, Live at Squamish included a Silent Disco , which many hadn't experienced beforehand. What's a silent disco you ask? Simple; you listen to what the DJ's spinning through wireless headphones. You can adjust the sound to your own comfort and go from there. Though fairly empty throughout the day, when night fell, the disco got packed. Complete with glow sticks [...]
The pressure is always on the first performers on the second day for two reasons; one, most people don't arrive early on day two (unless the artist is extremely recognizable and consistently draws huge crowds), and two, if they do have an audience, the audience is expecting something exceptional as they're a smaller, "more eager" group. Henry Mah (Stawamus Stage @ 1:00PM) and George Osei (Garibaldi Stage @ 1:00PM) have this challenge to face as Sunday begins. Brasstronaut - Stawamus Stage @ 3:05PM Vancouver's Brasstronaut are defined as [...]

One of my favorite newly discovered music blogs Ride The Tempo recently introduced me to Vancouver's Guilty About Girls . Their song "Candy Candy" is ridiculously catchy with a hook that promises to come knocking on your door long after it enters your room for the very first time. There's a highly addictive efficient New Order vibe to the band with some throwback Cars and VU mixed in. Jordy Birch is the singer and guitarist and Mark Henning handles programming, keys and production. Birch and Henning were in the band [...]
![[Listen/Download] Guilty About Girls- Candy Candy](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3109682_lg.jpg)
by teepoo You probably have no idea who Guilty About Girls are when I first mention their name, but this Vancouver band isn't a stranger on the Canadian radio waves. Their single Candy Candy is featured in CHR stations across the country. You might recognize the following line: "Follow me I know where I'm goin', I'm not messed up like all those hoes" which makes up most of the addictive chorus. Guilty About Girls- Candy Candy MYSPACE

"Candy Candy" by Guilty About Girls is dumb in the best way possible. With its half-rapped verses, ultra-simple chorus hook and nerdy lyricism, it recalls those awesome gimmick singles from the late '90s/early '00s. I'm talking about "Teenage Dirtbag" and "Steal My Sunshine." Classic shit. If MuchMusic still played music, this video would be on it pretty much on it non-stop. As it is, it's got a little less than 8,000 views (as of this writing). Oh to be fourteen again. MP3: "Candy Candy"
