Plenty of shows getting thrown about these days, this was the end of a three night run. Cymbals Eat Guitars headlined with Milk Thistle and Hooray for Earth. The nostalgic feelings grow with each show at Emo's. I found myself taking more pics of the place for the archive. There was ice in the urinal. No pics of that. Milk Thistle shared crafted Indie-Pop, Hooray for Earth battled technical difficulties and Cymbals Eat Guitars played a perfect set. A few more thoughts and [...]

Humour over email... It's always difficult to pull off, as our slightly confusing exhanges with From The Sticks will testify to. Hailing from the Fens, they opened with a line about having "only just got electricity" which worked well enough, it was the next one regarding the fact that they "made some instruments out of stuff lying around the house" that led to aformentioned confusion... Upon listening to their music, it's pretty evident that they're not playing graters and elastic bands but have instead done a fine job of making innately catchy music (with a DIY feel) using [...]

"The first time we toured the US, it was the first time I had seen most of the country. I touched the Pacific for the first time during a ridiculously beautiful sunset on the Oregon coast. It sounds so corny but it was a special moment. Can't wait to do it again!"

Tucson's ...music video? - with an excellent 2011 release on the heels of last year's Fort Lowell Records 7inch - open an excellent show on Tuesday night at Club Congress. Headlining are New York's Cymbals Eat Guitars. Below is my Tucson Weekly interview with the band:Cymbals Eat Guitars were eager to change things up for their much-anticipated sophomore releaseOpening a second album with a

Cymbals Eat Guitars recently released their sophomore album, Lenses Alien , to critical acclaim. They have seemingly avoided the "sophomore slump" and created an album that has something for everyone. Lenses Alien doesn't sit still, it is in constant motion, it pushes the listener to constant motion, it's a jumble of melodies and rhythm that borrows from many genres. Pop? It's there. Noise rock? It's there, too. Post-hardcore? Yep. It's all wrapped up and rolled into a rock record. The band's current lineup came about shortly after the release of their first [...]
Ladies, gents and music lovers, today we bring you Radical Something. Radical Something are rapper Loggy, singer Josh Cocktail and DJ Big Red. A super group, kind of. Ever since we saw them dropping an acoustic version of 'Come With Me', we've been hooked, with Josh Cocktail providing the hooks, Loggy providing the welcome rapping and guitar and DJ Big Red the beats, they're throwing around some pretty awesome potential. Their debut album/Mixtape (no really, we aren't sure quite what it is), We Are Nothing brings the sun tinged, relaxed and feel good hip hop come [...]

Cymbals Eat Guitars (Photo: Eric Wildes) Live Review: Cymbals Eat Guitars, Hooray for Earth September 27, 2011, The Earl, Atlanta by Eric Wildes I caught the Hooray for Earth, and Cymbals Eat Guitars show at the Earl on Tuesday, September 17, 2011. Of course, I was expecting there to be less people present at The Earl than if it had been, for example, a Saturday show, but it seemed shockingly desolate for two bands with immense "street cred" and a local group like Lyonnais [...]

E - Part Four of L.O.V.E I can't believe we're down to the last EP in the L.O.V.E saga. In just over a month " E - Part Four of L.O.V.E " will be released and today we're starting up the pledge for the final EP. Last but not least my guitarist Marcus Högquist is making his debut as a producer. Marcus has played in my band since 2004 and know all there is to know about my music. He's the most talented guitarist I ever met and I'm sure he'll be [...]
St. Vincent is on the right direction of her new album Strange Mercy . It's moody, yet with great instrumentation. Fusing elements that you wouldn't expect into her melodies without overwhelming them. If that's not a good review, we don't know what it. ![CYMBALS EAT GUITARS, HOORAY FOR EARTH PLAYED MUSIC HALL OF WILLIAMSBURG [PHOTOS]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3746798_lg.jpg)
Anyone fortunate enough to walk into the Music Hall of Williamsburg last Wednesday night certainly left without their socks - they had most definitely been rocked off. Those responsible for the laundry loss were Hooray for Earth (@hoorayforearth) and Cymbals Eat Guitars (@cymbls_eat_gtrs). Hooray for Earth's sound, which frontman Noel Heroux described as somewhere between harsh noise and Enya , kicked off the evening. Their album True Loves , released this June, was featured heavily throughout the show. And for good reason as their electronic-laced [...]
