Throwing back with a little old-school Gunstar. The Irish mate knows how to produce. Below he shows off his soft Futurecop! like skills in The Dream Machine and then spoon feeds us some of his own eclectic electric beats in Idee Fixe . Last year blogs had deemed him similar to GRUM , and Russ Chimes holding on to the fresh 80s synth vibe that was becoming hot as hell. There sure was a lot of potential there. [...]
Lamenting the Sharks' loss in the deep end of a pool of scotch, I came across these two lovely pieces of ear candy that must have been sitting somewhere on my hard drive for who knows how long.I don't know what to say about these two, except that their titles do a fair amount of speaking for themselves.Gunstar - The Dream Machine NightWaves - Invincble (Snow Picnic Remix)Keep dreaming, right? This song is suspiciously similar to the Futurecop! song I posted a few weeks ago. Nevertheless it is an epic instrumental with energetic transitions, a great beat and tasteful production decisions. Gunstar a 20 year old producer from Lurgan, Irelend who claims this is his first production. He posted the track on a few forums and it spread like wildfire. Although well recieved, some were bothered by the overwhelming similarities it has to Transformers by Futurecop!. I personally don't mind, great song, enjoy. Gunstar - The Dream Machine [...]

Le Tane put out an awesome summer mix called "The Thrill Of It" and I must say, it is pretty thrilling. It's an hour long set of hand picked electronic synth-rock and hipster pop, 80's style dance tracks for the summer of 2009. It really is great, check it out on his blog at KenyaDig.com . I linked MP3's for some of the tracks on the mix below. "If you like what you hear and interested in having me provide some sweaty jungle love at your kids' birthday party, please email me at [...]

First heard about the Northern Irish act called Gunstar when I downloaded The Dream Machine (from Fried My Little Brain ) which was blogged at a lot of places around the sphere. It's not a surprise, the guy making the music supposed to be only 20 and he brings the vibe of many nu-electro artists like GRUM and Neo Tokyo from the UK and among them his sound might be the closest to Russ Chimes and Valerie's 80s fetish and fascination with video games and sci-fi. On the other hand, the tracks bang hard. Sometimes [...]

To post these tracks ages ago but it just never happened... Any how. First up, is a track called Machine by Death+Taxes which is really dark with a strong rock influence. It reminds me of something to power on through a dark late night drive. Death+Taxes - Machine This next track is from a Normal 0 false false false EN-AU X-NONE [...]

So last week we got some mail by a new producer who goes by the alias Gunstar . As every other blog has stated, for a newcomer aged 20-something, 'The Dream Machine' is a pretty powerful track. Excellent crescendos, thriving synths, spacey arpeggios and driving drums. I couldn't help but feel like I had personally heard this track many times before. The PR firm who sent Gunstar's track our way, stated it was brand new by this artist and didn't exist. Other blogs who also posted 'The Dream Machine' didn't make mention of it either, so [...]

(via lasofabunny ) Soaring synths, spacey melodies and a soft thudding beat that kicks in just as the track builds to an incredible climax... The email pretty much nailed it. Gunstar is legit and "The Dream Machine" isn't bad for a 20 year olds first track, not bad at all. Happy Monday everyone. Gunstar - The Dream Machine Beats™ Tagged: Exclusive, gunstar, Mp3, music
Introducing Gunstar and his is the first slab of electronica going out to the blogs from this Irish wonderkid. At just 20, this young gun is also a talented graphic designer, and strangely obsessed... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]
20 year old Gunstar from Lurgan, Ireland, is so fresh to producing that he hasn't even got himself a Myspace yet, but when he dropped this tune on the Noise Porn forum just now, we couldn't believe it. Think Japanese Popstars and you're getting close, it's just sky high sunrise music. Let us know what [...]
