...and did we mention it's already sold out? Because it is. So, sure - I'm quite familiar with Guster's catchy and irreverent tunesmithery: ...and Jeff Garlin on a TVD favorite, Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO: ...but I have no idea what's to be expected when both take the stage at the Lincoln Theatre on April 18—but that hasn't stopped you guys, because the show sold out pretty damn fast. But as the headline attests, we've got [...]

BAM! Bet you were expecting a Best of 2011 list, yeah? Well I don't got time for that (YET)! No...this is where I acknowledge all the great stuff I missed in 2010. 'Cause it doesn't get any more rock n roll than to talk about shit that's over a year old. Write that down in your How to Be Rock N Roll notebooks. Anyway, the last time I wrote this list , I spent quite a while talking about how there isn't enough time in one year to listen to all the potentially great releases and put [...]

But that day, the rains poured down and the winds were kicking up. I drove down to The Stone Pony in Asbury Park not even knowing if there would still be a show but sometime around 5:00 the skies cleared up and the sun broke through. ...

The elderchild and her smaller sister are growing up fast, as kids are wont to do. They don't need kidfolk so much anymore - are starting to make their own choices about music and listenability, and tend to prefer playfulness and performability to nuance or lyrical narrative, a trend which I suppose will linger until they hit their teens and begin to look for ways to identify themselves as "other". They play unattended, and wander the folk festival grounds on their own; they do musicals, as their parents do, and sing the songs around the house for [...]

Released after the fact, then, it would perhaps be best to judge its six songs as what they are: a cut-together collection of odds and ends. A collection of songs it is, though, and Guster has made it clear that they don't want these tracks to be viewed as throwaways: "B-sides, while seemingly the rejected bastard children of an album, are often some [of] our favorite material that just didn't fit into the sequence [...]
