Hot on the heels of Jimmy Edgar's new album comes some long-awaited new material from Guy Andrews . Having already made a name for himself with some rather spiffy releases on Discobelle and Hemlock , his output has been somewhat restrained. All we've heard from Andrews since 'Shades' / 'Textures' are a few mixtapes, albeit very good ones. Well, now he's back with a new double a-side for Scuba's impeccable Hotflush , continuing where he left off with 'Shades' and 'Textures'. Expect heavy drums, chest-rattling bass and [...]

The once expansive chasm dividing house, techno and bass music has been subject to a tectonic shift in recent times. With perennial artists like Maya Jane Coles , Paul Woolford, Joy Orbison and Boddika all dipping into each other's pockets to add diversity not only to their sets but their productions as well, thus closing the gaps on a previously torn landscape. Unflinchingly straddling the cracks is Brighton's very own Guy Andrews . His latest available work 'The Wait b/w Hands In Mine' expertly blends a heady cocktail [...]

With the new album from Jimmy Edgar still ringing in everyone's ears, Hotflush keep things moving with a 12 from Brighton's Guy Andrews . He first appeared with an EP for Discobelle and swiftly followed that with a 12 for the mighty Hemlock . He's been keeping things ticking over with a selection of fine mixes but now the wait is almost over and these two slabs of dark house will be available for the grabbing from the 28th of May. He's got more [...]
Tags: Guy Andrews Hotflush Following last year's triumphant debut on Untold's imprint Hemlock, Brighton based producer Guy Andrews is back with his first 12" for Hotflush Recordings. A superb followup to his 2011 auditory missive, The Wait / Hands in Mine merges percussive elements with heavy basslines resulting in two dark dancefloor cuts. Shuffling and persistent, Side A is bass-driven track filled with arpeggiated goodness, while on the flip, Andrews shows off his ability to manipulate genres by using a bass kick and [...]
I think it's great when people work together to find out what the music is without it being spoon-fed to them. Techno eclectic, mix-maker extraordinaire and general fresh musical upstart Bobby Champs has produced a storming mix for Société Perrier — the latest latest installment of his excellent mix series. As usual, it's cracking stuff. [...]
Stuck on Repeat simply collects together a load of tracks over an un-specified amount of time that we consider essential listening. As always with these types of things there maybe certain tracks you've already heard, tracks we've missed or accidentally overlooked, so please feel free to hit up the comments with anything you think is indispensable. In no particular order.... George Fitzgerald - Feel Like (Hotflush Recordings) GoldFfinch - Red Mask (Numbers) Mickey Moonlight - Close to Everything (Martin Brothers Remix [...]

Guy Andrews first hit our radar after a feature in XLR8R . Soon after that the Brighton bass producer has a 4 track debut on Discobelle . Such is the hype around Guy that he quickly followed that up with an exclusive interview and mix for Dummy Mag . What is it about his music that has gathered such early plaudits? His productions can be as stark as they are deep. Heavy use of drum samples, cross genre beat runs with influences from right across the spectrum mean there is always something quirky and [...]

Guy Andrews is a name you need to take note. The Brighton DJ's Your Notion EP was recently released by Swedish label, Discobelle a few weeks back and I still can't get enough. Stripped back, mid-tempo house with plenty of organic percussion play - basic, this EP is most definitely not. 2 standout tracks on this 4 song ep is Your Notion and the faster tempo Unita with the bleepy breakdown. Tight and smooth at the same time. Listen: [Guy Andrews - Your Notion] [...]

Having long been one of electronic music's most diverse talents, Mike Gnacadja , a.k.a Momma's Boy a.k.a Mikix The Cat , has released EPs and remixes with just about every label you'd want to work with. From Turbo to Trouble & Bass to Sound Pellegrino to Mad Decent , his varied musical interests not only afford him the ability to sound at home in any genre but also to bring a fresh outsider's view to it. With little left to accomplish in a sweaty electro scene that, quite frankly, is [...]
Poised to do some very big things in the very near future, we're pleased to introduce Discobelle Record's latest release, which is also the first EP from Brighton's Guy Andrews . Here are four tracks that move seamlessly from metallic arpeggio glossed out club shufflers to organically percussive dance music that's constantly shifting and mutating. All drawing on different reference points from dance music history, from the darker corners of the percussive spectrum to the upliftingly organic vibes present at unexpected places, it's a balancing act that feels completely right for moving dancefloors. Grab the "Your Notion" EP over [...]

I would like to bring to your attention a very fresh and more than exciting producer from Brighton, called Guy Andrews. His tune Klikkr was recently featured on XLR8R with more than one superlative directed to the guy. An extra two tracks emerged since then, Exit3 and Unita and now the picture is starting to make a lot more sense. We are talking about a producer of amazing talent with a rather special affinity towards percussion, bassline and and incredible sense of melody. [...]

Brighton newcomer Guy Andrews has put together an outstanding piece of percussive bass music. Punchy, hollowed-out tribal knocks tumble over rolling subs, making for a simple but cogent dancefloor weapon. The whole thing comes on like a more restrained, percussion-focused Untold production - or not that far off from KidKut's rattling stomper 'ILove04'. Ahhh, if UK Funky had a few more balls it might have all turned out like this: Guy Andrews - Klikkr [pelski highly recommends] Bonus : Golden Girls - [...]
