...we shot some behind the scenes video! This video was shot moments after Oderus/Dave Brockie entered the Metal Injection studios and right as we came back for the third hour of our extended episode 101. If you still haven't heard the episode, I highly suggest you check it out, if only for the final hour ...
I had a meeting at 6:30 last night and somehow I completely forgot that this shit was happening. I could not be more angry with myself. Not surprisingly there are plenty of pictures to make me hate myself even more. Link:Oderus Urungus Happy Hour Photo SetAnd Another Photo Set

Recommended Show: SUNDAY, DECEMBER 26, 2010 GWAR @ BEST BUY THEATER 1515 Broadway New York, NY 10036 $25, 7:30PM Though the day after Christmas (aka Boxing Day) isn't exactly exploding with shows, there are a few good surprises tonight. Gwar doesn't seem like a typical way to celebrate the holidays, but plenty of the heathens will be sure to escape from their Christmas vacations with the folks to sneak off to this show. Merry Christmas to all of our readers who, y'know. Celebrate Christmas. Enjoy this while my family and I enjoy a movie and Chinese food. -AR

Who knew that even GWAR gets into the Christmas sprit, traveling to rural America to sing Christmas carols. Typical GWAR though, they can't do anything without some bloodshed. Anyway, this clip is hilarious and totally made my day. Don't forget, the band is hitting the east coast for some late-December dates. More info can be ...
I am, of course, totally kidding. Gwar clearly would not fit with with the Fox News pundit, 'cause what he does is far too fantasy-based for their particular brand of entertainment. ANYWAY, I mention it 'cause you might remember that last week we posted a video of GWAR killing a Sarah Palin stand-in as part [...]
I can honestly say it's hard to review an album by GWAR , the Virginia outfit mostly known for their grotesque live show and obscene heavy metal. GWAR is the kind of band that has established enough of a reputation that they don't necessarily need to put out a new album. Bands like Primus and the Insane Clown Posse have achieved a similar status; they never have to make another record again, but their fans are more devoted than ever. GWAR is no different. The legions of fans who love GWAR really do love them, and have [...]
One of the best parts of any Gwar show is seeing which celebrities/public figures the band is going to "kill" on-stage. And I don't know if they were offing Alaska's most infamous maverick on a nightly basis on their most recent tour, or if this is something they did special for the people of Detroit [...]
I get the sense that GWAR doesn't like Sarah Palin very much .
Oh, GWAR... Link:GWAR Disembowels Palin

To be a Scumdog in the slave army of GWAR , you must abide by certain rules: 1) Bow before your space lords like the infernal humanoid scum that you are; 2) Serve the conquering masters of your small and puny planet with undying loyalty; and 3) Rise above your feeble genetics and develop a strong stomach because you will be showered with gobs of blood, semen and other nasty things whenever you approach all that is GWAR. The faint of heart need not apply. The religious right is not welcome. This is the code of the Scumdogs and [...]
This weekly column from our brethren at Decibel - the only metal magazine still worth caring about - was supposed to run earlier today. But Axl fucked up and forgot to run it! A million apologies. Now here's managing editor Andrew Bonazelli to school your ass. You're probably already on your way to spend six [...]

Filed under: News , R.I.P. The punk world is mourning the loss of Jean Paul Toulan, who first got his start as the frontman for pre-teen punks Old Skull. According to Punknews.org , Scott Sturgeon of Star F---ing Hipsters -- a band that once included J.P.'s brother Jamie -- confirmed the news of Toulan's passing. The cause of his Nov. 13 death is still unknown. Born in 1980, J.P. formed Old Skull with his younger brother Jamie and a friend, Jesse Collins-Davis, in Madison, Wis., in 1989. The band was [...]
With the holidays right around the corner - and all the best of, greatest hits and holiday comps that come therewith - this past Tuesday was the last big date for new album releases in 2010, though there are still a few stragglers coming down the pipe. The world of hard rock and metal made [...]
It's Wednesday, which means the week is half over (and there's a Livecast tonight!). There are plenty of good tunes to get you through today, so let's begin the roundup: GWWWAAARRRRR have finally released their new album Bloody Pit or Horror and because they love all the scumdogs of the universe so much they have ...

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News With SXSW and October's Austin City Limits music festival usually grabbing all the national attention when it comes to live music in Austin, the three-day Fun Fun Fun Festival ended with a bang Saturday night heavy enough to put it on the map. As Brooklynites the Dirty Projectors were mesmerizing the audience with their voices and jittery guitar work on the main stage, Gwar were proving that they [...]
