Sam Murray, one of the Vitamins crew and DJ hero Ben Martin have assembled a serious roster of artists for their first release. Mia Dora , HaHaHa & Raksha have been residents in Glasgow and have now collaborated together, bringing together their unique styles to produce a stroming debut. [...]

The spotlight falls on Synth Glasgow in the first of our new "Blogs We Love" series. Over the next few months we'll be taking a look at our favourite blogs, finding out what makes them tick and bringing you some of their musical recommendations. Mixing a professional writing style with a quality taste in electronica, it's a guaranteed good read and there's always a bundle of good free tunes available also. We spoke to Colin AKA Alaska , the driving [...]

Living with an 8yr old is SUPERFUN. Nearly breaking my neck on the way to the fridge, maybe not so fun :P Or coming down in the morning to teddy parliament: The musical situation in our house is reaching critical levels of lame. Before I had a job (I leave before anyone else wakes up now) I would rise begrudgingly to the sound of Christian music. Now I have a job (hoooray) [...]

The place was electric. It was Halloween. "This is the start of our American tour and I can't think of a better way to start than in Boston.", said Ms. Welch at the close of the opening set's penultimate song. HOB roared. Florence was so over. Florence + the Machine are massive. If for only the sold out House of Blues crowd; but every face knew every word to everyone of those songs. It was an hour long reverie. For the set and encore's approximate 60 minutes duration, [...]

House Terrorist If you're familiar with tracks like 'This Could Be Beautiful (it is)', 'Peter's Pan' and 'How Say' from Metronomy's debut album Pip Paine (Pay the $5000 You Owe) then there's a good chance you'll like what Hahaha has to offer. Glasgow electronic producer Frazer Graham began the solo project in 2009, alongside his other two bands Alpine Ski Champion and Vendor Defender . All three electronic pop acts differ from their own being, Hahaha is the house [...]

So, anybody else's brackets get kind of jacked up over the week? At this point, I'm rooting for all underdogs (I'm looking at you Butler, UNI, St. Mary's, and Tenn). I heard there's this autistic 17 year old that had predicted all the winners except last night's Butler game against 'Cuse. Nobody saw that one coming. I guess you can't win them all. On a music note, and not to be too skeptical, but the new LCD Soundsystem song " Drunk Girls " did nothing for me. Let's hope the rest of the [...]
Professional peenie-doodler Perez Hilton has a mini Golden Doodle and a wall of his face at home; Kim Kardashian has a bathside fireplace. Parts & Labor's Dan Friel, for the win: the Cardboard Records mogul has a butter gun, a medicated cat, and a dirty toilet in his Williamsburg spot. Look out for a comic-book cameo of our very own Whiney in the second part of yesterday's Indie Cribz . Parts & Labor release their excellent full-length Receivers , out on Jagjaguwar and play [...]
